Nintendo is back again with another Super Mario Odyssey Twitter update. The latest update covers the tank-like enemies called Sherms, one of the enemies Mario can capture with Cappy.

As expected, the Captured Sherms allow Mario to move around as a tank and shoot enemies with the cannon.

Thanks to LukasManak for the tip.

With the newest Famitsu magazine scans, more details for Fire Emblem Warriors have come out showing some new combat mechanics and new screenshots.

First off, one of the newest game mechanics detailed is the “Pair Up” system. This mechanic was first introduced in Fire Emblem Awakening and it allows you to form a pair up attack with an ally when you get close to them in battle. In Fire Emblem Warriors, one character will be in front while the other character will be behind you.

When you are paired up, the “Dual Attack Gauge” and the “Dual Guard Gauge” will appear on the screen. Dual Attack allows you to break the enemy’s guard when its gauge is filled up, while Dual Guard nullify the enemy’s attacks when the gauge is full.

Finally, the last mechanic detailed is the “Dual Mystery Attack.” When the Warrior Special gauges of both units are filled up, you can use this special combo technique in battle. The only Dual Mystery Attack known right now is Marth and Lucina’s, which you can watch here.

There are also some new screenshots released showing off the newest revealed characters Hinoka, Camilla, Takumi, and Leo. You can view them below in our gallery.

During a Nintendo Direct earlier this year, Ubisoft announced that Monopoly is coming to Switch. The game finally received a release date today, though only for Japan.

Monopoly will be available for Switch in Japan on November 9. Pricing is set at 4,800 yen.

We’re waiting to hear when Monopoly will be heading to North America and Europe. With today’s Japanese announcement, hopefully the news isn’t too far off.

Best Buy is preparing a special pre-order bonus for Super Mario Odyssey. If you reserve the game, you’ll receive a free collectible coin when the game launches. My Best Buy members will be eligible for $10 in rewards as well.

All of this information is provided on a flyer handed out to those attending the Nintendo World Championships 2017 qualifiers at Best Buy in the Bronx Terminal Market. Pre-orders can be placed either online or in-store. Also, in order to receive the pin, it seems that reservations will need to be done between August 18 and September 23.

The other tricky thing here is that we don’t have an actual image of the pin yet… nor is this information appearing on Best Buy’s site for the time being. We’ll keep an eye on the page to see if it pops up soon.

Capcom published another video for Monster Hunter XX to publish the game’s imminent launch in Japan. Watch it below.

Depending on which sales tracker you go with, Splatoon 2 has sold over one million copies in Japan.

Media Create has total sales at 949,737 units. However, Famitsu indicates that Splatoon 2 has sold 1,013,842. Factoring in digital sales, it should be over one million regardless.

Nintendo confirmed that Splatoon 2 was a global million seller last week. But aside from Japan, we don’t have concrete, official data in any other region. Nintendo also mentioned that players have participated in over 400 million online battles.

Famitsu has a new feature on Sonic Forces this week. Along with announcing a November 9 launch for Japan, the magazine provides details about the game itself, including the Hero Character and new Tag Team stages.

One of the aspects Famitsu covers is avatar customization. In addition to choosing between the seven species, you can also set the gender, skin color, and face to your liking. Each Hero Character species will have its own unique gameplay abilities. For example, Wolves can pull in surrounding rings.

Last night, NBA 2K18 cover star Kyrie Irving was traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Boston Celtics. That had obviously implications for 2K Sports.

As for how the publisher is handling the situation, 2K says that the company “will issue a version of 2K18 featuring Kyrie in a Boston Celtics uniform at a later date.” The full statement reads:

“We are excited to be part of one of the most memorable NBA offseasons in history with Kyrie, our 2K18 cover athlete, and Isaiah, one of the stars of our 2K roster, trading places. This isn’t an unprecedented event, a cover athlete being traded – but it’s certainly interesting timing with 2K18 being released in less than a month. The good news is that as the most authentic and realistic basketball game on the market, we’re used to being nimble and responding to changes in the NBA. Fans should be thrilled to know that we will issue a version of 2K18 featuring Kyrie in a Boston Celtics uniform at a later date.”

Pokken Tournament DX

Play limits were a thing on Wii U and 3DS, but we haven’t really seen anything similar on Switch – until now. In the Pokken Tournament demo, those who have downloaded the Japanese version have found that a 15 battle limit is included. It sounds like once you’ve hit that number, the demo doesn’t let you play any further.

… Or does it? We downloaded the Japanese Pokken Tournament demo and played through a couple of battles. We were then told that 13 were remaining. After deleting the demo data from Switch’s system settings and redownloading from the eShop, the counter reset to 15.
