The game is being made by Dlala Studios, the team that worked on the 2020 Battletoads game. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy will be featured in the 2D platformer that features local co-op. It’s set in the world of Monoth, and players must travel to the three biomes to retrieve the books of knowledge.

Shoji Meguro, the long time Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series composer, has revealed that his upcoming project Guns Undarkness is tentatively planned for Nintendo hardware.

Meguro first announced the game back in November 2021 as his first official post-Atlus project as a freelance developer. He’ll be working on the game design as well as composing and producing all of the music. Character designer Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in Shell: SAC 2045) and lyricist Lotus Juice (Persona series) are also on board.

Here’s a bunch of information about the project:

Update (9/8): The rhythm game Voez is receiving another free update on Switch. Flyhigh Works and Rayark have announced version 1.11, which is adding fifty more songs to the game. That makes a total of 290 tracks to play through when the update launches next week on September 15.

Here’s the full lineup of the new additions:

Original (8/31): According to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, a Nintendo Direct could air during the week of September 12. September 14 could be the most logical date based on when prior presentations have taken place and the fact the Tokyo Game Show will begin on September 15 in Japan. Grubb believes that the Nintendo Direct is planned for September 13 or 14 – depending on the time zone you’re in.

As for what the new Nintendo Direct will contain, Grubb thinks that “there’s going to be a lot of Zelda stuff” and “it will be a Zelda blowout”. Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD for Switch, which have been previously rumored, are thought to be making an appearance plus potentially Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Another possibility (but keep in mind Grubb doesn’t confirm its presence) is the Metroid Prime remaster – something else that there’s been speculation about.

Thanks to GamesIndustry, we have new insight into the UK gaming market for August 2022.

Microids has shared a Switch-specific trailer for the remake of XIII.

The remake was first announced in September 2019. It had an initial launch – and a very rough one at that – the following year, but not on Switch. Due to negative feedback, Microids went back to the drawing board and implemented fixes plus adjustments while adding online multiplayer. Tower Five, a studio brought in for the updated version, also redid the art direction, AI, and more. Switch will now be getting this updated version.

Masahiro Sakurai published a video today talking about the development of Kirby’s Adventure. This follows his previous one going over Kirby’s Dream Land.

Sakurai was actually told to make Kirby’s Dream Land for the NES, but he wanted to create something for both veterans and newcomers. That led to the copy abilities and the decision to work on a new game entirely.
