More than twenty years after it caused issues for Nintendo originally, the company is bringing back Tug o’ War for Mario Party Superstars – though it now comes with a warning.

A wild thing happened with the original Mario Party on N64 way back in the day. Certain mini games – notably Tug o’ War – caused issues for some players due to the controls. With the way in which they needed to quickly rotate the analog stick, those that were affected could end up injuring their hands. The New York’s attorney general’s office received quite a number of complaints, forcing Nintendo of America to agree on a settlement. The company allowed families that were impacted to obtain up to four gloves.

Nintendo has a few periods of maintenance scheduled, all of which will be happening tomorrow evening (or early Tuesday morning for those in the UK/Europe). This should all be related to the new Expansion Pack service for Switch Online.

Also available are small seed gifts and sounds from old friends.

Saber Interactive has been behind some notable Switch ports, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the Crysis Remastered games. The studio is also about ready to ship another impressive release in the form of World War Z. Many wouldn’t have thought that we’d be seeing this game on Nintendo’s console, but Saber managed to make it happen in the end.

Even though World War Z has been the toughest Switch port for Saber Interactive thus far, lead game designer Dmitry Grigorenko doesn’t believe that Nintendo is in need of a more powerful iteration of the hardware. In fact, Grigorenko stated that his team along with other companies “have already proven that there is no such thing as an impossible port.”
