In this photo, there’s a description on the back of a box for Japanese title Hakuoki Shinkai: Fuukaden that reads, “Compatible with Save Data Cloud Backup of Nintendo Switch Online.” That suggests that Switch cloud saves might not be universal and instead are dependent on the game. Ahead of its Switch release later in the month, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is getting a demo in Japan on September 13. Players can move the progress made in the demo to the full game. Since the Switch isn’t region locked, any Switch owner can download the demo as long as they have a Japanese account.
According to a translation by Gematsu, Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection will release on December 20 in Japan for Switch. An early purchase nets you the bonus game Hanazono Koukou Dodge Ball Bu. It’s unclear if “early purchase” means a pre-order or extends past the game’s launch
Listings on the eShops provide file sizes for a bunch of Switch games. These include My Hero: One’s Justice, Gone Home, The Spectrum Retreat, and more.

One segment of the latest issue of Famitsu was an interview with Tomoya Asano and Masashi Takahashi of Square Enix. They revealed some new information about both Octopath Traveler and hints at the future of the Bravely series. Some interesting tidbits from the interview:
- The developers of Octopath Traveler decided from the beginning not to add any DLC. They’ve just started talks about a possible sequel.
- Now that the team has grown to be the 11th Business Division, they hope to release a new RPG every year.
- The new pieces of art for the Bravely Twitter account are meant to convey that Bravely is “not a title of the past” to Square Enix, though they didn’t have any details to share about a new Bravely game.
- Since games like Octopath Traveler and Bravely titles take about four years to make, Square Enix would need at least two new franchises to hit their game a year goal.
