GameReactor Spain has new footage up from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Additionally, the site shares a little bit of extra information about the game as well.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a new pink boost, as we’ve seen in some of Nintendo’s official videos. If you hold the ZR button longer (about four seconds), after the red and blue boosts, it’ll turn pink. The pink boost is said to be more powerful and durable.

Loading times also seem to be improved on Switch. For example, loading the Egg Cup now takes less than 9 seconds on Switch in TV Mode, whereas it’s about 13-14 seconds on Wii U. Playing it in Handheld Mode hasn’t been fully tested, but it’s likely the same there as well.

Check out all of the latest Mario Kart 8 Deluxe footage below.

Along with Switch, Wii U, and 3DS maintenance set for Wednesday / Thursday, more maintenance for Switch specifically is planned for tonight. Certain network services such as online play, rankings, etc. may be affected.

The schedule is as follows:

– 5 PM PT – 7 PM PT
– 8 PM ET – 10 PM ET
– 1 AM in the UK – 3 AM in the UK
– 2 AM in Europe – 4 AM in Europe

Nintendo released a new trailer for Snipperclips, which highlights the multiplayer aspect of the game. Give it a watch:

Update 1.2.0 is coming to Fire Emblem Heroes, and to implement it, the game will undergo maintenance, during which you won’t be able to play. The maintenance will last about 5 hours; exact times are below:

  • 12 AM (April 12th) – 5 AM (April 12th) in Europe
  • 7 AM (April 12th) – 12 PM (April 12th) in Japan
  • 6 PM (April 11th) – 11 PM (April 11th) in the US (East Coast)

Although we don’t know for sure, it’s likely that this is the big April update that has been teased for a while now, which will add features like 99 max stamina, the ability to swap the starting positions of your units before battle, and more.

Mario Sports Superstars arrived in Japan on March 30. Through April 2, it sold a little over 30,000 copies. Dengeki notes that it had a sell through rate of only 40 percent.

How Mario Sports Superstars does in the long run remains to be seen. It could be a bit of a slow burn, with more sales coming down the line.

Amazon recently updated its listings for eShop currency with what appeared to be new card designs. Until we heard that they were actually being sold in stores, we held off on posting about the news. Now we finally have that confirmation.

Retailers such as Best Buy are selling the updated eShop cards, which feature one Mario card on each. Amazon also has some extra ones, including Wario for the $70 denomination.
