In Japan, Fire Emblem Heroes places a limit on the amount of cash that can be paid by minors. These players will only be able to spend 12,000 yen on the game each month. Other mobile titles in Japan have integrated a similar “safety guard” of sorts.
Fire Emblem Heroes launches on both iOS and Android on February 2. It’s the first free-to-play mobile game from Nintendo.
HORI will be releasing a bunch of Switch accessories, and it seems that they will also make their own microSD cards for the new Nintendo system. These new cards will have the Switch logo on them to assure consumers of their compatibility.
Cards will come in two formats: 16 GB and 32 GB. Japan will have both on launch day (March 3).
FDG Entertainment teased two games for Switch last October. The first is Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom. The second was thought to be Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas.
On Twitter, FDG Entertainment confirms that Oceanhorn is indeed its second Switch game. It should launch before the end of the year.
FDG’s tweet reads:
@JeGeekJePlay Yes, Oceanhorn will head to #NintendoSwitch later this year. Will run beautifully on the powerful Switch.

It was previously mentioned that FDG’s two Switch games were planned for the first half of 2017. Hopefully that’s still the case.
Thanks to JeGeekJePlay for the tip.
Famitsu has a next batch of details about FuRyu’s new RPG The Alliance Alive in this week’s issue. Three main battle features are explained.
During battles, characters may raise their morale based on the movements chosen by players. Once morale has reached a certain point, they will activate something called “Ignition”.
This month’s issue of Retro Gamer is starting to make the rounds. In it, an interview is published with Suda51, the developer of games such as No More Heroes and Killer7.
Some of the Nintendo-related excerpts have now been transcribed online, courtesy of Japanese Nintendo. Suda51 spoke about Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special, making Killer7 as intended for a global audience, and developing for Wii.

Much of the attention surrounding Nintendo right now is focused on Switch, and understandably so. But the big N has another system on its hands that isn’t going anywhere. Naturally, we’re talking about the 3DS.
Several titles had already been announced for the portable this year. This week, Nintendo reconfirmed some of its 3DS plans (and some new ones), as well as its committment to the platform.
Don’t forget that Nintendo just announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and Fire Emblem Warriors (New 3DS). Aside from that though, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World comes out next week in the west. Tank Troopers then follows as an eShop title on February 16. Just one week after Switch launches, Mario Sports Superstars arrives in Europe with new amiibo cards to boot – it’ll follow later in March in North America and Japan. Pikmin is still heading to 3DS this year, as is Ever Oasis. Oh, and a Pikachu New 3DS XL system is slated for February along with two new Nintendo Selects in the states.
How’s everyone feeling about 3DS right now? Even after Switch launches, will you continue to play new releases (or older games you have for that matter)? I do think we’ll be seeing at least a few more announcements, whether they’re completely new or localizations of games like Miitopia. Let us know how you feel about 3DS in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: Fire Emblem Direct reactions
During the week of January 16, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly sold nearly 40,000 copies in Japan. Though that may seem a bit slow, the title sold through 80 percent of its initial shipment, according to Dengeki. Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly is off to a smooth start in Japan thus far, and may continue to sell at a steady rate going forward.

Last year, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime appeared on DeadLock from The Game Theorists to argue about motion controls. He’s back again, and this time he’s presenting a case for Nintendo to continue making consoles rather than just focusing on software alone. Check out the full video below.
