Update (8/6): Z-Crystal 9 Pack now up for pre-order on Amazon here.

Update (8/4): Was out of stock for a bit on Amazon, but it’s back now. GameStop is also taking pre-orders for the “Z-Ring Crystals 3 Pack”.

Original (8/3): A whole bunch of Pokemon Sun/Moon information was unleashed earlier in the week. The latest update included details on new Pokemon, the island challenge, and Z-Moves.

Z-Moves are powerful attacks that can be executed once per battle when a Trainer and Pokemon’s wishes resonate with each other. They can be performed with the Z-Ring fitted on a Trainer’s arm, with Z-Crystals set into it. If a Pokemon holds the same type of Z-Crystal, the two will be able to resonate with one another.

The Pokemon Company is teaming up with Tomy to bring out a real-life version of the Z-Ring and Z-Crystals later this year. When a player using the Z-Move, the Z-Ring lights up, vibrates, and emits sounds to go along with what’s happening in-game.

Pre-orders for the Z-Ring (Set) are starting to live. It includes the Z-Ring, three Z-Crystals, and a 2-inch Pikachu figure. For those in the United States, you can place an order on Amazon here or GameStop here. In Europe, pre-orders are live on Amazon Germany here. We’ll keep you informed about other pre-order news.

Here are some new images and details from the Amazon product page:

GameStop has the Yoshi’s Woolly World amiibo bundle on sale. For $40, you’ll receive a copy of the game plus a green Yarn Yoshi. That’s $20 off the original asking price. Place an order here if interested.

Dragon Ball: Fusions came out in Japan a couple of days ago. Take a look at an hour of gameplay in the video below.

Mario and Sonic have starred alongside each other in various games based on the Olympics over the years. However, that’s not what Yuji Naka – one of Sonic’s creators who has since moved on from SEGA – originally envisioned.

We’ve heard about this a bit in the past, but Naka spoke about the origins of Mario & Sonic in greater length in an interview with Famitsu. When he gave a presentation in front of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto during the GameCube era, it was for an action game featuring the two characters. Unfortunately, that didn’t lead anywhere, but SEGA obtaining the license for the Olympics eventually led to Mario and Sonic teaming up for a game. Yet to this day, Naka still wants to see the two characters in an action title.

Here’s what Naka had to say about Mario and Sonic co-starring in titles based on the Olympics and the origins of it all:

The Kirby Cafe debuted in Japan yesterday, with the first location opening in Osaka. Plenty of people stopped by and snapped photos of the venue. You can see what the Kirby Cafe looks like in the gallery below.
