The Nindies@Home program went live on the North American and European Wii U eShops yesterday. This is a brand new initiative from the Big N, which lets fans preview nine upcoming indie titles for a limited time.

In Australia and New Zealand, this offer has yet to hit the eShop. Nintendo explained in North America and Europe that game demos need to be classified before they’re released in these territories – hence the delay. The company added, “We are currently working with the developers to make it happen in Australia and New Zealand.”

Here’s the full message from Nintendo’s Facebook page:

The Nindies@Home programme has been announced by Nintendo in North America and Europe, where fans can access free preview versions of nine Nindie games from Nintendo eShop for Wii U for a limited time.

Down Under, unlike America and Europe, game demos need to be officially classified before their release, therefore in this region we require more time for these titles to be made available.

We are currently working with the developers to make it happen in Australia and New Zealand.

We thank you for being patient. Please stay tuned for further
updates!

This week’s issue of Famitsu is set to reveal The Great Ace Attorney’s fourth episode, which is called “The Adventure of the Night of the Fog and I”. This is a reference to the “I Am A Cat” novel written by famous writer Natsume Soseki. The cat goes by the name “Wagahai”, which is not a coincidence.

More information about The Great Ace Attorney’s fourth episode should emerge last this week. Stay tuned!

Last night, the announcement of Shenmue 3 coming to Kickstarter set the Internet ablaze. The project managed to hit its $2 million funding goal in well under a day, so there’s no question that it will be made. However, some people are wondering about potential platforms.

Might a Wii U version of Shenmue 3 be possible? At the moment, the possibility isn’t being ruled out.

Here’s an excerpt straight from the Kickstarter’s FAQ:

Will there be an Xbox/Wii U/Linux/Mac version for Shenmue 3?

Currently we are planning development only for PC (Windows) and PS4. Other platforms have not been decided yet.

You can find Shenmue 3 on Kickstarter here.

2015 Nintendo World Champion John Numbers held an AmA (Ask me Anything) on the Nintendo subreddit. Here are a couple choice quotes:

On meeting Shigeru Miyamoto:

I was definitely starstruck seeing the man in person. I was very excited to shake his hand, and receive his autograph. I took an opportunity off-mic to thank him for all of the good experiences I’ve had with Nintendo games growing up.

On the event being 50% contestants who qualified and 50% invitees:

I had no problem with the invitees showing up. The speedrunners are all talented gamers, and I can understand them being allowed to appear onstage. Egoraptor too, and he actually did a lot better than anyone was expecting(including Ego himself), so kudos to his good work too.

On whether he’s actually going to use his signed 3DS:

I’m still trying to figure that out. If I do ever end up using it I’ll definitely be getting a super protective case for it. Can’t let a national treasure like that be damaged.
