The sequel to Square-Enix’s “Bravely Default” now has a concrete release date in Japan – the 23rd of April, 2015. The company also provided a look at the RPG’s fancy collectors edition, which will be out on the same day for 14,800 yen exclusively on Square-Enix’s “e-Store”. This pack includes a figure of Bravely Default heroine Agnes, a mini soundtrack, a copy of “U’s Journal”, rubber strap of Magnolia and the book BRAVELY DEFAULT 200 Years Later: ~ Vestal of Wind: Edea Oblige ~. Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend that much, the standard game will set you back 5,980 yen. Additionally, there are several retailer-specific preorder bonuses for the game, although these are limited to in-game weapons. We’re still holding out for an English release of the game to be announced, but even if it does make it over it’s hard to imagine Square-Enix or Nintendo releasing such a lavish special edition.

An exploit was recently released for the 3DS that allows the system to run fan-made homebrew. All of the work is done through the game Cubic Ninja, which is now naturally in high demand.

Nintendo just launched a new 3DS update tonight. As a result, it’s only to be expected that many are wondering if homebrew is affected. The short answer is yes.

Today’s firmware is said to address one of the later stage exploits in Cubic Ninja. Two exploits still work apparently, though 3DS owners who are interested in homebrew may want to hold off on updating their system.

Nintendo has released firmware version 9.3.0-21 for the 3DS. There have been improvements to system stability, but this update does bring about a few features as well.

First, there is now a “Shuffle Favorites” feature for 3DS themes. It’s possible to choose multiple themes and have their theme change when the system is left in Sleep Mode or turned on after being turned off. Updates for software can also be downloaded from the Home Menu, and screenshots can be captured with both the upper and lower screens included.

Read on below for the official update notes from Nintendo.

Yet another blog update has landed on PlatinumGames’ official blog. This time around, we get to hear about some of the game’s lesser known facts.

Check out a few excerpts below:

So, we all know that the Chain Chomp is a weapon, but did you know you can also use him to sniff out treasure? Sometimes, Chomp might start barking and tugging on his chain as you’re proceeding through the map. This means there’s a treasure nearby and he’s trying to get it. If you feel like you might be missing some of the game’s treasure chests, try him out for a bit.

After you’ve started the Climax, try pressing the L button again. You’ll exit your Umbran Climax and preserve the rest of your magic gauge. You won’t be able to enter Umbran Climax until you build you gauge up to full again, but at least you won’t have to expend any gauge without actually using it.

Some of you may already know, but we here at PlatinumGames have a continued tradition of hiding beetles in our games. I haven’t heard of anyone finding it in Bayonetta 2, but it’s there! Get to looking.

Head on over to the PlatinumGames website for the full post.
