Nintendo will be appearing at the first PAX South event in San Antonio, Texas later this week, the company announced today.

Attendees will be able to go hands on with the New 3DS XL before it launches on February 13. Additionally, Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be playable.

Nintendo is celebrating the upcoming launch of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D with a “72-Hour Mask Challenge”. This asks fans to create their own personalized masks. More information will be published on Nintendo of America’s Twitter account.

Also tying in to promote Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D, fans will be able to take photos with a real-life replica of the Majora’s Mask and receive paper versions to wear around the convention (while supplies last). Those who come dressed in costumes inspired by The Legend of Zelda will be able to bypass lines to get hands-on time with the 3DS game.

PAX South runs between January 23 and January 25. Head past the break for today’s complete announcement.

505 Games appears to be bringing Terraria to Nintendo platforms, based on GameFly listings. The retailer has Terraria listed for both Wii U and 3DS.

GameFly lists an October 31 release date for both versions. However, this is likely a placeholder.

Terraria was once thought to be out of the question for Wii U and 3DS. I wonder what changed!

Nintendo of Europe has now officially announced via twiiter after having accidentally “leaked” it earlier this morning through the same twitter account that, Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Dedede’s Drum Dash Deluxe will be arriving in European eShop 2/13.

In the recent Bravely Second live-stream we learned that Edea will be returning in the upcoming title, Bravely Second.

Now in this week’s issue of Famitsu we see a glimpse of what she will look like as well as some additional details about how she has evolved.

She appears to have grown up slightly as the artwork is showing her as being a little older.

Edea is now the leader of the Imperial Guard Knights, and will now be one of the main characters.

It is unknown at this time if she will be a completely playable character this time, she is said to be returning to “judge” the Asterisk holders from the previous game.

Famitsu also revealed that there will be a new “Barter Sub Scenario System”.

There will be additional information about the Patissier job in next week’s issue.

Update: Translations below:

New report! We’ve just received intel on a sub weapon that appears to be some sort of ink shield. Activating it apparently blocks enemy attacks and progress for a short time. This is a great example of how sub weapons can be used not only for attacking purposes, but for defense and team support as well.

Check this out! Squid fighters can take a set of three weapons into battle: a main weapon, a sub weapon, and a special weapon. Turf wars are considered a serious sport in the squid world, and as such, the weapon manufacturers are constantly competing to outdo one another with new innovations to help these athletes gain the upper hand…er, tentacle.

In addition to the Club Nintendo shutdown, Nintendo also announced today that Flipnote Studios 3D is coming to 3DS and will be available to North American Club Nintendo members for free in February, with Europe to get the product “during the launch period” of the new service. Not all the details are known but here’s what Nintendo have said so far:

We’re working hard to create a new programme, which we plan to launch later this year. And as a special offer, users who sign up to the new programme during the launch period will be able to download Flipnote Studio 3D to a Nintendo 3DS system for free. Please stay tuned to the Nintendo website for further details.

As a gift to Club Nintendo members, the Flipnote Studio 3D software will be available to download for free in February. This software will allow users to create unique three-dimensional animations and to exchange their creations via local wireless with others who also own Flipnote Studio 3D. Users who uploaded creations to Flipnote Hatena will be able to download their personal animations from the Nintendo DSi Library menu in Flipnote Studio 3D software. Flipnote Studio 3D will be available to Club Nintendo members until June 30. The ability to create a new Club Nintendo account will end on March 31. All users who register to Club Nintendo before registration closes will be eligible to receive Flipnote Studio 3D.
