A “Mario White Edition 3DS XL” seems to be releasing in North America, based on a new listing on Play-Asia. The system is listed for a July release with a $299 price point. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is included in the package, as is – strangely – Pro Evolution Soccer 2011.
The design above may look familiar to some of you. It was one of three unique systems released by iQue in China back in December 2012.
During a Nintendo Direct last year, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma spoke about changing the conventions of the series. One of these points concerned the tradition of playing by yourself.
Hyrule Warriors, while not an actual/traditional Zelda game, does offer a multiplayer component. This led Game Informer to ask Aonuma in a recent interview if the Wii U title is a step in this direction and if there will be multiplayer in the next true Zelda release.
Aonuma responded by stating that we “will see in the future, maybe next year.”
Aonuma’s comments in full:
Game Informer published a new Hyrule Warriors interview today with general producer Hisashi Koinuma and development producer Yosuke Hayashi as well as supervisor and overall Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma. The three spoke about how long the game has been in the works, talked about how fan feedback influenced the game, and more.
You can check out a few excerpts from the interview below. More comments can be found on Game Informer.
Nintendo’s new development building located near Minami-Ku, Kyoto officially opened on Wednesday. This will be a new base where both Nintendo hardware and software will be produced, and it will promote the product development and initiative of next-generation game consoles.
The building was created in about a 40,000 square meter area, which was originally a golf driving range site that is about 300 meters north of the new head office building development. It is seven stories high, has one floor basement, and is about 50,000 square meters in total. The total cost was about 19 billion yen. Nintendo has roughly 1,000 employees from the development department of the head office and aggregated about 100 people from a software development center in Higashiyama District called “Kyoto Research Center”.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said, “We’ll be interacting more deeply with hardware development, but we’ll also be able to develop integrated software.”
Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre has also been available on the eShop. Alternatively, you could buy the software by actually visiting the museum.
A listing on Amazon France now suggests that Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre is seeing a widespread retail release in Europe. As is listed on the site, you’ll apparently be able to purchase the game on July 4 for €14.99.
Sonic Boom won’t have any microtransations, according to SEGA of America’s senior director of marketing Marcella Churchill.
DLC is another story. Additional content isn’t confirmed, though it hasn’t been ruled out either.
Churchill only said the following regarding DLC: “There is currently no news on DLC for the game.”
Sguerra Design’s title Drible Button Football might be coming to Wii U. The game has only been announced for mobile devices thus far, but it’s been rated for Nintendo’s console (as well as PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, PC, and Mac) in Brazil. We’ll see how things develop.
