Nintendo is preparing for its Quality of Life initiatives with a new trademark in Europe. Sometime today, the company registered the name “QOL” – the filing should be finalized very soon.

Nintendo’s Quality of Life platform should be arriving sometime in 2015/2016.

Thanks to saki for the tip.

Shovel Knight has been out for a few weeks in North America, but our friends in Europe, Australia, and Japan are still waiting on the game. So what’s the status of things currently?

Yacht Club Games shared a status update on its blog today, and published a few handy images:

There’s lots of information about what each of these steps mean on Yacht Club’s official blog.

A few months ago, Nintendo kicked off a Japanese YouTube video series known as “Nyannyan Neko Mario Time”. It sounds like this has now headed west, based on a new announcement made today.

The first episode of “The Cat Mario Show” is out now on the European eShop. It can be viewed on the Wii U, 3DS, and 2DS.

Here’s an overview of the first video:

The bite-sized presentation delivers a puppet show hosted by Cat Mario and Cat Peach and is peppered with fun facts, tips and quizzes for Nintendo’s youngest fans. In the first video, the two hand-puppet hosts reveal insider secrets on becoming a Mario Expert and challenge kids to spot the hidden Luigi in SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD, while the show also delivers some top tips on becoming super powerful in the Kirby Fighters battle mode of Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

I don’t personally have access to any European Nintendo systems, so I can’t be sure that The Cat Mario Show and Nyannyan Neko Mario Time are one in the same. Still, the two sound pretty similar!
