At GDC last week, Game Informer spoke with Splatoon 2 producer Hisashi Nogami. Nogami talked about why the team decided to make single-player DLC as well as what to expect from the expansion. He also touched on what it’s like seeing the Inklings in Mario Kart and Smash Bros.

Splatoon 2 update out now (version 2.3.3)

Following a bit of maintenance, Nintendo has started distribution of the latest Splatoon 2 update. Version 2.3.3 is out now.
Today’s Splatoon 2 patch only addresses one particular issue. In the past, some players may have experienced issues connecting with friends with the Online Lounge after attempting to play Salmon Run. This should no longer be a problem going forward.

Splatoon 2 – Japanese Splatfest #9 results

The latest Japanese Splatfest in Splatoon 2 has ended. Nintendo has calculated all of the votes and results of matches, so we now have the winning team.
Nintendo’s new Splatfest asked players if they prefer buying the latest model or what’s popular. The event also featured a collaboration with Nike thanks to the Air Max 270s and Air Max 95s.

Splatoon 2: Zink Mini Splatling being added to the game soon

It’s the end of the week, which means another weapon addition to Splatoon 2. The Zink Mini Splatling is identical to the regular Mini Splatling in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Bomb sub-weapon and the Ink Storm special instead. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

Nintendo gives a look at the Octoling transformation in Splatoon 2

As previously announced, the Octo Expansion is coming to Splatoon 2 this summer. It will let players finally play as an Octoling, including in multiplayer.

These 16 teams will compete for the title of Splatoon European Championships

The dust has almost settled on the Splatoon European Championship. 16 teams will soon be battling it out, including winners and runners-up from the preliminary local tournaments that have been held over the past year.

Last week’s Nintendo Direct was packed with Splatoon 2 news, including what’s to come in future updates. Three more stages will be added in the months ahead.
The Japanese Splatoon 2 Twitter accounts confirms that Piranha Pit will be up first at the end of March. Camp Trigger Fish will follow in late April. Finally, Wahoo World will be out at the beginning of June.
