Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy

Square Enix character artist Toshiyuki Itahana has participated in a new interview as part of the release of Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy. There was plenty of talk about the game itself, but a couple of topics outside of that as well. Among other things, Itahana commented on where the idea for chocobos came from.

Square Enix has kicked off an in-depth look at Final Fantasy IX with a new video series. The featurettes offer a look at some of the secrets and anecdotes from the development of the game, complete with developer interviews.

You can watch the first Inside Final Fantasy IX below. It contains commentary from producer Shinji Hashimoto, artist Toshiyuki Itahana, event designer Kazuhiko Aoki, and event planner Nobuaki Komoto.

Square Enix held its latest broadcast for Dragon Quest Builders 2 earlier today. During the stream, it was announced that DLC No. 2: Aquarium Pack is due out in Japan on March 28 alongside a new update.

Square Enix today announced its lineup for PAX East 2019. Highlights include Chocobo’s Mystery Dungeon Every Buddy, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. While Dragon Quest Builders 2 will also only be appearing at the company’s booth on PlayStation 4, we do know that Nintendo’s booth will have the Switch version.

Square Enix had some significant news to share about Octopath Traveler last week. The game is getting a mobile prequel, and a new console title is also in development.

Following the announcement of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent for iOS and Android, Famitsu managed to score one of the first interviews with Tomoya Asano and Yuki Yokoyama. Asano is responsible for planning / producing Octopath Traveler while Yokoyama is the mobile project’s producer and talks with partner developer Acquire as a mediator.

Square Enix has kicked off a new sale on the Switch eShop. Titles such as I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear, and Romancing SaGa 2 have been discounted.

Today, Square Enix announced plans to host a concert for Octopath Traveler in Japan. The show will be held sometime this summer.
