Nintendo has pulled back the curtain on a new Super Mario Maker update coming on December 21 which adds a number of new features.

Those are as follows:

– bumpers (create one by shaking a grinder)
– P Warp Door (create one by shaking a Warp Door)
– Fire Koopa Clown Car (create one by shaking a Koopa Clown Car)

Aside from these new elements, you’ll now be able to see the world record time for each course in addition to the person who completed it first.

Here’s a look at the upcoming update:

The Bookmark web portal, which was announced during last month’s Nintendo Direct, is also releasing on December 21:

Nintendo of France shared sales numbers for a variety of titles today. We have figures for Wii U and 3DS games, plus the Animal Crossing amiibo cards.

Lifetime sales of Splatoon in France are now sitting at 280,000 copies. It’s the second most popular game after Mario Kart 8.

Also on Wii U, Super Mario Maker has sold 145,000 units thus far in France. Xenoblade Chronicles X, a game which just launched this month, has already moved 40,000 copies.

Moving on to 3DS, sales for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer are at 220,000 units. New Style Boutique 2 – Fashion Forward has sold 110,000 copies.

Finally, one note about amiibo. Nearly 200,000 packs of Animal Crossing amiibo cards have been purchased by French consumers.

Another collaboration course and costume have made their way to Super Mario Maker. Players can begin playing the “Ma Rio Hills” level right now. After completing it, you’ll unlock a new Felyne costume inspired by the Monster Hunter series.

Here’s a look at the costume:

And a description of the new course:

“As a Felyne warrior, your quest is to face the gigantic monsters that roam the uncharted region of Ma Rio Hills and make it safely from your camp to the target point.

Genre: Mario Hunting Action”

Last week, Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz teamed up for their latest partnership. The car company created and put out its own level in Super Mario Maker, which unlocks a special costume upon completion.

This was the second time Nintendo and Mercedes-Benz. In 2014, free DLC was added to Mario Kart 8 so that players could access the GLA, W 25 Silver Arrow, 300 SL Roadster, and GLA Tires.

Here’s what Caroline Pilz, head of product placement and fashion sponsoring for Mercedes-Benz Cars, said about its work with Nintendo:

“Many people grew up with Mario during the last 30 years, so there are quite a lot of 30- and 40-somethings around for which Super Mario Maker hails back to their childhood days and gives them a large dose of nostalgia. While we received a lot of positive feedback on the campaign and the integration of our cars into Mario Kart 8, we also learned that many gamers are skeptical about brands appearing in their games, so we made sure to put a lot of effort and passion into designing the actual level.”

Following their collaboration for Mario Kart 8, Mercedes-Benz has now made an Event Course – arriving today – that comes with a costume showing Mario in the driver’s seat. Players can download the Mercedes-Benz Jump’n’Drive course at no extra cost.

One of the more publicized glitches in Super Mario Maker involved invisible platforms. This was addressed in an update last month, though levels that took advantage of it remained online.

Reports are now surfacing that these types of courses are now being removed. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed this officially, but that’s the word going around based on various user reports. One bright spot: all stars earned with the deleted levels have remained with their creators.
