Important email status update
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News | 1 Comment
I don’t really know why this is, but I seem to have a curse when it comes to email. Every so often – for what feels like a few times each year – something breaks either on the site or with my inbox. It’s strange, and very frustrating. And unfortunately, it seems that we ran into this problem once again.
If you sent in a tip via the built-in “Submit a news tip” box at the top of the page since around late December or so (estimating December 17), I unfortunately never received it. The same goes for messages sent via the contact form. However, these are now starting to be recovered, and I’m going to try and look through them as soon as possible. Just give me some time! If you don’t hear from me within a week or so and have an important message, please resend. Also note that messages sent directly to my address were delivered properly and should have been replied to at this point.

Theatrhythm producer interested in continuing the series
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 14 Comments
Square Enix has created three Theatrhythm games. We’ve seen two based on Final Fantasy, and the Japanese-only entry for Dragon Quest. If recent comments from Square Enix’s Ichiro Hazama are anything to go by, the series won’t be stopping there.
Hazama commented about the future of Theatrhythm in this month’s issue of Nintendo Dream. He spoke about wanting to keep the franchise going in his New Year’s greeting, in which he mentioned:
“This is Hazama from Square Enix. Last year at this place, I said ‘we’ll keep continuing Theatrhythm from hereafter too!’. Well then, I wonder how about next year[‘s continuity]. Personally, I still want to continue, and everyday I have been devising various plans. I’m full with a feeling to do something to make it happen, so I’ll be glad if you can wait with anticipation. With that being said, please keep supporting [the series] as usual from hereafter too!”
I’d personally be up for a Nier-only Theatrhythm, but that’s probably unlikely to happen. Something like Theatrhythm Kingdom Hearts might be more realistic!

Although Nintendo has stated that January will be the last month of free content releases for Splatoon, it seems that it will be a month packed with updates. This is already the third content addition to the game since Christmas.
The new weapon is called the Sloshing Machine Neo and is it is similar to one already in the game called the Sloshing Machine. Visually it looks like a washing machine with a sticker on it. The Sloshing Machine Neo includes two weapons: Point Sensors (Sub Weapon) and the Inkzooka (Special Weapon).
The Sloshing Machine Neo will be available at:
– 6 PM PT
– 9 PM ET
– 2 AM in the UK
– 3 AM in Europe

Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 79 Comments
Sceptile was revealed for Pokken Tournament following a tease on the game’s Twitter account. Something similar is now taking place once again.
Next week, Bandai Namco will be pulling back the curtain of another fighter on the way to Pokken Tournament. The announcement – which will likely come with a trailer – will be made on January 15. Only one clue has been shared: the Japanese name of the Pokemon has a letter ? (ra) in it. We’ll be hearing about another support Pokemon as well.
50 staff members attempted to predict the Pokemon and their reactions were polled after knowing the result. Here are the results of that:
– My prediction is correct! I’m really happy! – 1
– My prediction missed, but I’m still glad – 13
– My prediction missed, I’m salty – 31
– I’m actually perplexed, so I can’t answer – 5
