In its financial results explanatory material published today, Nintendo delved into Switch hardware sell-through as well as the system’s annual playing users.

As mentioned today, the system has crossed the 100 million mark and has now outsold the Wii. Nintendo stressed that it’s still combating semiconductor shortages and distribution delays, which has an impact on Switch production.

As for annual playing users, the company said: “Many people continued to play Nintendo Switch in the most recent year, and for the period of January through December of 2021, the number of annual playing users exceeded 98 million users.”

GameMill, Ludosity, and Fair Play Labs have announced Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the newest playable character for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Additionally, the classic game show Double Dare is being added as a new stage.

Last month, Garfield was announced and released as a new character for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Shredder is now continuing the trend of free content.

Nintendo has a number of heavy hitters planned for Switch this year, which today’s document reconfirms. Pokemon Legends: Arceus just released, and will be followed by Triangle Strategy (published by the Big N in the west) and Kirby and the Forgotten Land in March. At least for now, other major titles such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, Splatoon 2, Bayonetta 3, and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope are on track for 2022. Nintendo also didn’t forget about Metroid Prime 4, though it’s still listed with its “TBA” release window.

Along with Nintendo’s financial results for February 2022, the company has also provided its latest updates on games that have sold over one million units on Switch.

There are a number of new additions here, including Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl at 14 million. Metroid Dread appears for the first time and has sold 2.74 million units. We also see Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain, WarioWare: Get It Together!, and Game Builder Garage at just over a million each.

Switch has managed to outsell the Wii, Nintendo’s latest financial results confirm.

The company just reported that the console’s hardware sales stand at 103.54 million units. In its lifetime, Wii sold 101.63 million units. This means that if you consider Switch to be a home console, it’s now Nintendo’s best-selling platform in that department of all time. However, it still has a couple of handhelds to get past.

Four more classic Humongous Entertainment titles are inbound for Switch, various eShop listings have revealed. Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo, Pajama Sam: No Need to Hide When It’s Dark Outside, Pajama Sam 2: Thunder And Lightning Aren’t So Frightening, and Spy Fox: Dry Cereal are all planned for February 10.

These games follow Putt-Putt Travels Through Time and Freddi Fish 3, which landed on Switch last month.
