The Warriors series spans decades across a multitude of eras, spinoffs, and properties, and has become a cornerstone in what it means to have feel-good hack-and-slash gameplay that’s as fun as it is memorable and unique. Warriors Orochi itself – a crossover between the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series – is over ten years old now, and with each new entry has come new mechanics, more playable characters, and a story that’s as wacky as it is over-the-top with its action prowess. Warriors Orochi 4 has its biggest roster yet, spanning 170 characters across both series each with their own era, specialty, class, weapon, and fighting style. The biggest difference between this and other entries, however, is the inclusion of magic, which really helps to change things up and introduce a fresh and exciting way to execute moves and combos out on the battlefield.

In terms of popularity, Pokemon couldn’t be in a better place than it is right now. Pokemon GO created another surge for the franchise a few years ago while games on consoles continue to sell and the IP itself is known around the world.

Speaking with The Verge, Pokemon developer Junichi Masuda touched on the huge success of Pokemon GO, stating:

Following yesterday’s update, new Pokemon are now live in Pokemon GO. The mobile game has added creatures originally discovered in the Sinnoh region, includong Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.

Niantic says that new Pokemon will be rolled out in waves. These monsters will show up “over the next few weeks appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs, and battling in raids.”

IGN published a new article today about Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee. It includes comments from director Junichi Masuda and lead game environment designer Kensaku Nabana. One of the big things we learn is that the team experimented with “a more photorealistic approach” when it came to visuals, but ultimately felt that the graphics didn’t fit in with the vision of a “more kind and soothing and inviting experience”.

Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee are making things more accessible than usual. One way players will find an easier experience is by playing co-op.

Director Junichi Masuda, speaking with Polygon, noted that the co-op feature is included “to get around players encountering barriers.” He said:
