Developer RCMADIAX recently spilled the beans on their release plans for the first quarter of 2017 on Twitter, mentioning 8 titles in total for the 3DS and Wii U.

The 8 titles in question were not mentioned by name, but RCMADIAX made clear on their Twitter account that 2 were intended for release on the New 3DS and the remaining 6 are headed to the Wii U. There are 6 to 9 titles slated for release by the end of the 2017 holiday season, with the first being seen around the second or third quarter of the year. After a reported five years of searching, the first advertisement for what would become the Nintendo Entertainment System has been located.

Hidden a few pages into a 1984 issue of Consumer Electionics is the first advertisement for the NES, in the form of a prototype known as the Advanced Video System, or AVS. Found by archivist Frank Cifaldi on eBay, he parted with a measly $6.99 for what he considered an “extremely lucky” find.

If the Xbox store webpage is anything to go by, it seems that Yooka-Laylee will be released in April.

The page has Yooka-Laylee listed for release on April 11. A Brazilian retailer also posted its own release date of April 7 for physical versions. While this is by no means an official confirmation, one could assume that we’re likely close to an actual official announcement from Playtonic in the near future.

The only slightly concerning thing here is that a physical version of Yooka-Laylee is nowhere to be seen. Missing out on a retail release wouldn’t be entirely surprising given the state of the console, but we’ll have to see what Playtonic and Team17 are planning.
