Runbow

Runbow is out on Switch today, and Headup Games has prepared a launch trailer to celebrate. Have a look at the video below.

As part of last week’s update, Fortnite added in the new Playground mode. But shortly after it was made available, the feature was pulled following connectivity issues.

Nearly a week later, Playground has returned and is fully up and running. You can find the full notice from Epic below.

Gamescom 2018 is roughly two months off, but Bandai Namco has already announced its lineup for this year’s show.

The company will have eleven games at its booth, located in HALL6 – B 41. They include My Hero: One’s Justice, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Jump Force, Soulcalibur VI, One Piece World Seeker, Code Vein, Ace Combat 7, and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker.

All-Star Fruit Racing

Last month, All-Star Fruit Racing developer 3DClouds.it said that the Switch version wouldn’t have online play. Essentially, the studio mentioned that it would be tough to implement as an Unreal Engine 4 title and would require a lot of time and money to make it happen.

Regardless of what was originally the case, publisher PQube today announced that online play is coming to All-Star Fruit Racing on Switch. Fans can expect the functionality “around the launch week or shortly thereafter”.

Pato Box

Pato Box reaches Switch digitally on July 9.

Nintendo is bringing back the Splatoon 2 Switch bundle in Japan. It will be sold once again starting July 21 for 35,960 yen.

The bundle comes with a Switch system (including Joy-Con), a copy of Splatoon 2, and stickers. But something else has also been added: a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. A three-month ticket can be redeemed when the service launches in September.

Splatoon 2 is celebrating its first anniversary with a global Splatfest. The event itself will be hosted during the weekend of July 20 / 21, though you’ll be able to choose a side two weeks prior.

As for the topic, players will be asked if they prefer squids or octopus. Everyone on Team Squid will battle as Inklings. You’ll be able to play as an Octoling if you choose Team Octopus, even if you don’t have the Octo Expansion.

Nintendo has revealed a trio of New 2DS XL systems for Japan.

First up is the Minecraft New 2DS XL Creeper Edition. It comes with a pre-installed copy of Minecraft: New 3DS Edition and a system themed after the Creeper. Pricing is set at 16,980 yen.

Digerati isn’t slowing down on its Switch releases. After bringing a slew of other titles to the eShop, a listing on the store shows that Frost is coming out later this month.
