West of Loathing

West of Loathing was announced for Switch as a console exclusive during the last Nindies Showcase. Today, Asymmetric revealed that the game is arriving on May 31. It’ll be offered as a digital download on the eShop.

After it originally released on Steam last year, West of Loathing received a great deal of positive feedback. It features a hybrid of point-and-click adventure and open-world RPG gameplay.

The Pinball Arcade

Update (5/21): In addition to North America, The Pinball Arcade can also now be downloaded from the European eShop.

Original (5/11): The Pinball Arcade originally appeared on the Switch eShop last month. The thing is, it was only up for an incredibly short period. FarSight Studios had it removed due to a licensing issue.

A month later, The Pinball Arcade is back up on the eShop – presumably for good. It’s free to download, with a bunch of table packs that can be purchased separately.

Etrian Odyssey X

Earlier today, Atlus hosted its first live stream for Etrian Odyssey X. The company made an announcement and also shared plenty of footage from the game.

As far as the announcement goes, Atlus revealed that all class illustrations from past games will be offered as DLC. They will be free initially for an unspecified period of time. After that, they’ll become paid DLC.

Here’s a video promoting the announcement as well as a bunch of footage:

Octopath Traveler

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. Octopath Traveler is back in the top five, with Persona Q2 right behind it.

Head past the break for the full chart. All votes were cast between April 26 and May 9.

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version

Update: Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version now has a listing on the Japanese eShop, and it’s confirmed that English will not be included. Only Japanese is supported. It’s unclear what that means for any possible release in other territories.

Original: Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version is coming to Switch, Capcom has announced.

As the name implies, Resident Evil 7 will not be launching on Nintendo’s console in the traditional sense. Everything runs through the cloud (the “download” is just 45MB), so you won’t actually be purchasing the full game that can be played offline. You’ll need a stable internet connection while accessing the title.

SEGA tends to have a big presence at SXSW when it comes to Sonic. During a panel at the event in March, the company announced Sonic Mania Plus, a new Sonic Mania Adventures animated series, and more. Also at the very end, fans were treated to a teaser of what we pretty much know is some sort of Sonic racing game.

SEGA has been keeping quiet on that mystery project since that initial teaser. But during an official live stream this week, fans were given an indication that news is coming soon.

Dispatch Games recently opened its very own online store. You can see what’s currently available here.

Dispatch’s store will carry standard editions of games, but also exclusive limited editions. Penguin Wars and Psyvariar Delta are up first. Both of their limited editions come with a PC-based digital download code for the complete soundtrack, which is a $30 value.

Additional titles will be added to the store as they are announced.
