Nintendo has sent out an announcement covering all of the news from the Nindies@Night live stream. Read up on it in full below.

During Nintendo’s Nindies@Night event in Seattle, several independent developers revealed new details about their upcoming indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch system. This included the announcement of three new amiibo figures in the Shovel Knight series, as well as additional info from games like Super Meat Boy Forever, Floor Kids, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes and Shovel Knight: King of Cards.

On Aug. 30, Nintendo presented a Nindies Showcase video that covered 20 indie games coming to Nintendo Switch. The Nindies@Night event was an opportunity for several indie developers to speak to attending video game fans in more detail about their upcoming games. Some of these developers included Tommy Refenes from Super Meat Boy Forever, JonJon and Kid Koala from Floor Kids, Suda51 from Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, and Sean Velasco and Alec Faulkner from Shovel Knight: King of Cards.

Some of the game news and details emerging from the event includes the following:

Update: Added in additional information from Yacht Club’s blog below.

Original: Three new Shovel Knight amiibo have been revealed, as was just shown in the Nindies@Night stream. Specter Knight, Plague Knight, and King Knight will all be sold in a 3-pack.

In terms of functionality, each figures unlocks helper fairies. They’ll also provide new challenge stages and new visual armor. “Some other things” were teased in a reveal trailer as well.

No word yet on when the amiibo will be available. They should be out sometime in the near future though.

Following Super Meat Boy Forever, Floor Kids was the next Switch game to be given the spotlight treatment during the Nindies@Night live stream. Watch the recording below.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes will feature several collaborations with indie games. One of these will be Shovel Knight, director Suda51 has revealed.

The news was just shared during the Nindies@Night stream. Specifics were not shared, however, as talks between Grasshopper Manufacture and Yacht Club Games appear to be early on. Suda51 lifted his shirt… to show another shirt with Shovel Knight front and center.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is also collaborating with Hotline Miami. We should be hearing about other partnerships in the future.

Team Meat stopped by Nindies@Night to talk Super Meat Boy Forever for Switch. We’ve posted the recording below.

Square Enix announced Project Octopath Traveler for Switch during the system’s big presentation back in January. However, we haven’t heard much since then. That’s about to change.

Square Enix has opened its official website for the Tokyo Game Show, accessible here. The page already contains a listing of the company’s lineup for the show, and Project Octopath Traveler is indeed included.

The full lineup is as follows:

A new 3DS themes can now be redeemed on My Nintendo in North America. For 20 Gold Points, the Metroid: Samus Returns – Samus Aran theme can be yours.

The reward is up on My Nintendo here. It’ll be available until October 22.

Thanks to TruExtent for the tip.

If yesterday’s Nindies Showcase wasn’t enough, Nintendo has even more indie fun in store for us tonight. The Nindies@Night event in Seattle is underway, and HyperRPG is hosting a stream in collaboration with the Big N. We’ll be seeing gameplay and apparently some announcements as well.

You can watch the stream as it happens below. It should begin at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET / 5 AM in the UK / 6 AM in Europe.
