AlphaBeatic has gone live with a new interview featuring Nintendo Canada general manager Pierre-Paul Trepanier. There’s a lot of talk specific to Canda, but the whole interview has some neat insights as a whole.

Trepanier talked Wii U and 3DS sales, Splatoon’s performance thus far, and even teased some “interesting partnerships” that we’ll apparently be hearing about soon.

We’ve posted a good portion of the Q&A below. There are a few more questions and answers on AlphaBeatic here.

With the new version of Hyrule Warriors on 3DS, fans can expect some new content. We know that Nintendo and Koei Tecmo are introducing new characters, but there seems to be other additions as well.

Case and point: an interesting crossbow spotted in the 3DS debut trailer of Hyrule Warriors. What’s particularly interesting here is that the weapon appears to be very similar to what was shown in concept art for a female Link. This character, “Linkle”, never made it into the final version of Hyrule Warriors.

Is this indeed Linkle’s crossbow that we’re looking at? Could the character herself be included in Hyrule Warriors on 3DS?

Rodea: The Sky Soldier’s overseas release won’t be launching in September as originally announced. NIS America has delayed the game about a month, and it will now ship in October.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier is due out in North America on October 13. The European launch is scheduled for October 16.

Along with today’s updated release date, NIS America announced a launch edition for the 3DS version of Rodea: The Sky Soldier in North America. This features a collector’s box and original soundtrack. As previously announced, those who pick up an initial copy of Rodea on Wii U will receive the original Wii title as a bonus.

Update: Bumped to the top. Nintendo has shared an update on Twitter and confirmed that all problems have been resolved.

Nintendo took to its Japanese Twitter account a short while ago and commented on the Wii U’s latest update.

Earlier in the week, Wii U firmware version 5.4.0 was made available. We hadn’t heard of any issues, but Nintendo mentioned on its Twitter account that users may be encountering error 108-0065. Nintendo of America’s support site indicates that the problem may appear while downloading a system update, and it can occur if the update times out.

Nintendo is already on the case, and hopes to have the issues resolved soon. The company apologized for the inconvenience, and advises Wii U owners to simply wait until things have been fixed.

Interestingly, we haven’t heard about any problems in North America or Europe yet. Could these issues only be affecting Japan at present?

On his Twitter page, Digital Eclipse’s Frank Cifaldi has been sharing additional details about the Mega Man Legacy Collection, which was announced earlier in the week.

Here’s a summary of what Cifaldi mentioned:

– Won’t feature any new art that isn’t featured in the big Mega Man 25th anniversary art book
– No filter, NTSC composite simulation, RGB monitor filters
– Unclear if 3D will be supported
– Can stretch 16:9 if you want
– Not restoring unused content from the Mega Man 3 cart
