Capcom’s full-year revenue on the decline, but Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate performs well

Like Nintendo, Capcom reported its latest financial results for the full fiscal year today.
Capcom’s revenue decreased by 37.1 percent compared to the previous year. For the period ending March 31, the company brought in ¥64.3 billion ($538.4 million). That’s Capcom’s lowest yearly revenue figure since 2004 (¥52.7 billion).
There are a few bright spots. Capcom’s operating income rose 2.7 percent from the previous fiscal year while net income saw a boost by 92.1 percent to ¥6.6 million. Additionally, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate was cited as a success.

Splatoon pre-purchase up on the eShop, game will have product placement/advertising

The Splatoon news just keeps on rolling in! First, we now know that the game can be pre-purchased on the Wii U eShop. And according to the just-released demo, Splatoon will have some sort of product placement/advertising.

Following today’s Splatoon Direct, Nintendo UK added a few more bundles to its online store. All of these now include an original GamePad protector.

Special Splatoon pricing offer in Europe

Nintendo is running a special Splatoon price for Wii U owners in Europe. Those who download Splatoon Global Testfire will be able to save 10 percent on the full game. The updated sale price of £31.49 will go live between May 29 and will last through June 4.
Global Testfire demo: Participants can download the free demo from Nintendo eShop for Wii U from 17:00 CEST today. This demo will then go live for 1-hour periods at the following times on Saturday 9th May: 04:00 BST, 12:00 BST and 20:00 BST. When live, users will get the chance to jump online and play in 4-on-4 Turf War battles against other players from across the world, including representatives of Nintendo’s Squid Research Lab! Players who download the demo can also claim a 10% discount off the price of Splatoon on Nintendo eShop*, with the offer starting on 29th May and lasting until 4th June.
