Redeemable for 500 points each, the smartphone rings feature either Piplup or the Team Galactic emblem to attach to your smartphone. As with all physical rewards from My Nintendo, in addition to the points themselves, you will need to pay a shipping fee.

Playtonic Tencent

Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic has announced that it has sold a minority stake to leading technology company Tencent.

Playtonic says it “will retain full creative control over its IP and will use the investment to scale from their current one team structure to multiple teams, with an emphasis on hiring diverse talent from near and afar, improving their HQ, as well as looking to expand in new locations.”

Speaking about bringing Tencent into the fold, Playtonic founder Gavin Price explained:

Roll7 Private Division

Today, Take-Two publishing label Private Division announced that it has acquired developer Roll7.

The two sides are currently working together on OlliOlli World, which is planned for this winter. Roll7 also made the previous two entries in the series – OlliOlli and OlliOlli2 – which are available on Switch.

During Nintendo’s last financial results briefing, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto made some comments about the series. He mentioned that the company wants to try expanding 3D Mario in new ways, but didn’t elaborate further. Although there’s nothing groundbreaking here, it’s nice to hear that they want to try something new with the series soon.

As big fan of those games, I decided to share some of my thoughts about future possibilities for 3D Mario. There are some crazy ideas here because I started to have a lot of fun producing this video, but I’m also curious to see you guys think about the topic as well. Feel free to share your dreams and expectations for the future of Mario after watching the video below.

With the release of Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda, a couple of interesting tidbits have come to light including a neat Easter Egg.

Over on the back of the device, you’ll notice that there’s a Triforce. Turn the lights off (or at least dim them), and you’ll see that the design lights up. It’s nothing overly major and it’s something that can be easily missed, though it’s a neat little detail.

pokemon feedback

The Pokemon Company director of consumer marketing JC Smith has spoken about fan feedback and the balance that’s involved with making new games. This comes as part of a new interview conducted by Axios.

Although fans are clear about what they want, Smith indicated that the developers have their own vision, and it’s about “finding that delicate balance throughout.”

Smith said the following about feedback regarding Pokemon:

Bloomberg has recently reported that Tencent Holdings Ltd. has acquired Wake Up Interactive Ltd., a holding company and the parent company of developer Soleil. No official announcement has been made yet by either Tencent or Wake Up Interactive.
