Construction on the new Super Nintendo World section of Universal Studios Japan seems to be starting in the near future. Over at the park, the parking lot now has huge white construction walls in place. A sign also teases, “A new universe is on the horizon”.
This area is located between the waterworld show, Jaws, and Harry Potter, which is where it’s thought that the Super Nintendo World area will be. Nintendo says it will open by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Posted on 7 years ago by Fernando in General Nintendo, News | 3 Comments
You may be familiar with the World of Nintendo toys. Jakks Pacific is the company responsible for them and in a recent press release announcing their first quarter financial results, they have highlighted that the launch of Switch has boosted their sales (probably refering to their World of Nintendo brand).
Additionally, the Chairman and CEO Stephen Berman has confirmed that they are planning more Splatoon products, which will probably benefit from the launch of Splatoon 2 for Switch this July:
“As we look ahead to the next few quarters, we will continue to focus on margin improvement and our long term strategic goals. Our fall lines are moving forward as planned and we have a strong line-up of new product introductions that are a balanced mix of owned IP and licensed brands, including Real Workin’ Buddies™ Mr. Dusty, XPV® Extreme Performance Skateboard RC, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3, DC Superhero Girls and Nintendo Splatoon.”

Interview with Kaiji Tang, voice of Odin and Owain from Fire Emblem
Posted on 7 years ago by Zack in 3DS, General Nintendo | 3 Comments
In a recent interview with ComedynGaming, Kaiji Tang shared some details about his experience being the voice for the Fire Emblem: Awakening character Owain and Fire Emblem: Fates character Odin. Many subjects are touched on in the interview, as the interview covers many of Kaiji Tang’s roles outside of Nintendo properties. We’ve collected the quotes relevant to his role in the Fire Emblem series below. Minor spoilers after the break for Fire Emblem: Fates.
On how Tang got his role in Fire Emblem, and any similarities he sees between him and his character:
“I got the role of Owain like any other actor! A studio was having auditions for the game, I popped in and boom! Some sword hand talk later, some bit about time travel and they deemed me memey enough to become the fervent voice of Owain. I love the guy because we’re both huge, huge nerds who aren’t ashamed to let their geek flag fly. If I had special attacks, I think I’d come up with some pretty edgy names for them too. I absolutely have a blast!”
Fan recreates Nintendo’s Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2D prototype as a playable game
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 5 Comments
At GDC last month, Nintendo unveiled a special 2D prototype created for Zelda: Breath of the Wild inspired by the series’ very first entry. One fan has now recreated it, allowing players to cut down trees, harvest food, shoot arrows, use physics, and more.
Breath of the NES can be found itchio here. You can also view a trailer below.
One reason why we tend to shy away from posting about fan-made games is due to Nintendo often handing out cease and desists notices. Creator Winter Drake says he’ll work on the project for as long as possible. If Nintendo gets in touch, he will “continue development with my own original characters.”
