Original: Nintendo Switch Online will finally launch in September, Nintendo has announced. President Tatsumi Kimishima just announced the news during the company’s latest financial results briefing.
Unfortunately, Kimishima did not go into specifics. More information will be shared later in the year, he said.
Nintendo Switch Online is the paid service for the Big N’s new console. By paying a certain fee each month, players can access Switch’s online features. Subscribers will also be able to download a compilation of classic titles with added online play, along with exclusive discounts.

Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment announce Mario movie, co-produced by Miyamoto

Nintendo has confirmed rumors that the company is teaming up with Illumination Entertainment for a Mario movie. Shigeru Miyamoto will be on board as a co-producer, as will Chris Meledandri.
Illumination is best known for its work on the Despicable Me / Minions franchise. Meledandri has also been an executive producer on Ice Age.

Mario Kart Tour announced for mobile

Nintendo will release Mario Kart Tour on mobile devices, the company revealed during its financial results briefing today. The game is planned for release in the fiscal year ending in March 2019.

Super NES Classic Edition / Super Famicom Mini has sold four million units

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima provided a sales update on sales of the SNES Mini during the company’s financial results briefing today. Between the Super NES Classic Edition (SNES Mini) and Super Famicom Mini, the device has sold four million units.
The SNES Classic Edition launched in North America and Europe towards the end of September 2017. Japan got the Super Famicom Mini at the start of October.
ARMS update out now (version 5.1.0) – Gallery feature, new badges, Party Crash additions, Tournament Mode

ARMS’ latest update has gone live, as players can now download version 5.1.0. No new fighters have been added, but Nintendo has released several new features.
First, players can now access an art gallery. You can unlock illustrations using in-game currency or by fulfilling certain conditions.

Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition adds video capture

Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition was updated once again last night. Aside from adding in support for new DLC and fixing bugs, it also added some notably functionality. We’re hearing that video capture is now supported, so players can record 30-second gameplay clips similar to some other titles on the console.
Necromancer, Battle Chopper hitting the North American Wii U Virtual Console tomorrow

WayForward sent out an announcement about Shantae: Half-Genie Hero – Ultimate Edition today. It recaps what we knew for the most part, but reveals one exclusive item in the package. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero – Ultimate Edition features an exclusive extra Beach Mode costume, Shantae’s signature Blue Bathing Suit.

New Bloodstained video gives a look at crafting

The latest Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter update has arrived, and fans are being treated to a new look at the game’s crafting system. A video clip released today can be viewed below.
Bloodstained’s crafting system lets you combine items to make yourself new items and equipment. The team is also teasing other things that can be created, but we’ll be hearing about that later. Crafting can be done by visiting Johannes, an alchemist friendly to Miriam.
