Yuji Naka has joined Square Enix

Yuji Naka, most famous for his heavy involvement with the Sonic series since its beginning, has announced on Twitter that he has joined Square Enix. He will be working in game development and says that he aims to develop “an enjoyable game”.
He was a key member of SEGA and Sonic Team for over 20 years, first as a programmer on Sonic games, then later on as a general producer. In 2006, he left SEGA to create his own studio, Prope.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp: Winter Sports event is now live

The Rover’s Garden Safari event has just finished but a new event is now live in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. The Winter Sports event is pretty much the same like the last event but now you are collecting snowflakes in order to craft some special winter sports-themed clothes and furniture.
In order to get snowflakes, you have to complete requests from animals, Timed Goals, or get them from the Shovelstrike Quarry. Below are the items you are able to craft during the event:
This event runs from now until January 31st.
Famitsu’s most wanted games (1/21/18)

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. Shin Megami Tensei V is back in the top ten, and Bayonetta 3 enters the chart for the first time.

Fire Emblem Heroes – Choose Your Legends: Round 2 now live

Iast year, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems held a special Choose Your Legends event for Fire Emblem Heroes. It allowed users to vote on their favorite characters from various entries in the franchise.
This same event is now being brought back for a second consecutive year. Once again, you can choose your favorite character here. Votes can be carried out once per day over the next week.
Note that if you cast your vote with a Nintendo Account, you will receive 100 Platinum Points as a gift at a later date. The top characters will appear in Fire Emblem Heroes down the road as special versions.
New look at First 4 Figures’ Meta Ridley figure

First 4 Figures unveiled a new Meta Ridley figure over a year ago. This week, the company finally provided an update.
The image above “is an updated and more detailed reveal as it is now in its physical stages.” The hand in the shot was also included “to give everyone an idea as to how the actual statue scales in comparison.”

UK sales for December 2017

New sales data is in from the UK for the month of December.
When it came to physical sales, Nintendo was the #3 company. Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild all charted. Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon also would have placed at #11 had sales of the two games been combined.
