BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

Arc System Works announced today that they will be conducting an open beta test for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle in Japan next month. The test will take place from May 11th to May 13th. To take part, you will need to download a special demo version of the game that’ll be available on the Japanese eShop starting on May 11th. During the open beta,  you will be able to use all of the game’s non-DLC characters. The following modes will be playable: Casual Lobby, Tactics Mode and Versus Mode (against CPU).

Even after the open beta period is over, you will still be able to play the demo version – with some restrictions: you won’t be able to use all of the characters and you will only be able to play offline.

It’s the end of week, which means another new weapon is coming to Splatoon 2. The Custom Range Blaster is identical to the regular Range Blaster in terms of stats, but comes with the Curling Bomb sub-weapon and the Bubble Blower special instead. It’ll be available tomorrow around noon in Japan and Australia, early in the morning in Europe and later tonight in North America.

More:

The latest issue of Weekly Jump magazine contained some new information on Dragon Quest Builders 2 (thanks to Gematsu for the translation). First up, some details on the game’s story: when the protagonist is washed ashore on the vacant island where the game takes place, they hear a mysterious voice telling them to go to the top of the island’s mountain. There, they find a mysterious stone monument bearing five crests. There are also numerous stone pillars on the island which are engraved with trials, which the protagonist must pass if they want to become a “Master Builder”.

There are also some new and improved gameplay elements compared to the first game, such as diving, gliding with the wind mantle, dashing, waterfalls and making diagonally-shaped blocks.

So it seems that Game Freak and Nintendo have filed for a new trademark known as “Ultra Shiny”, it is unclear what this will end up being in the end but it is interesting none the less. It could involve the Pokemon games, cards, or movies we just don’t know at this point.

Today, the second portion was published online. The three developers had even more interesting things to share, including prototypes, why cardboard is used, and more.
