Monster Hunter Stories was finally announced for the west during the most recent Nintendo Direct. However, it was only discussed briefly with a confirmed fall launch in North America and Europe.

In Japan, a number of different amiibo were created for Monster Hunter Stories. Although nothing has been said about the figures in the west, they’re likely heading coming over with the game itself.

The official boxart for Monster Hunter Stories was revealed alongside the overseas announcement. And as you can see, while it seems to have slipped by most people, the packaging image has the traditional amiibo logo tucked away in the top-right corner. As far as we’re aware, only the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo are compatible with the game. So even though folks have been wondering about the Monster Hunter Stories figures, this should mean that we’ll be seeing them in North America and Europe.

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is largely based on the Wii U game, but Nintendo did implement several new additions and small changes. For instance, for this version, Nintendo included a few new title screens – such as the one included above. Who would have thought that we’d see Link on the title screen of a Mario Kart game?

Hello!

Jake has been doing a standout job since he joined us over a year ago. However, some personal changes are taking place, which is requiring him to relinquish his role. Jake is still on board with us, but we’ll have a rare vacancy with the night shift very soon.

The times we’re looking to fill are as follows:

– 9 PM PT – 12:30 / 1 AM PT
– 12 AM ET – 3:30 / 4 AM ET
– 5 AM in the UK – 8:30 / 9 AM in the UK
– 6 AM in Europe- 9:30 / 10 AM in Europe
– 2 PM GMT+10 (Sydney, Australia) – 5:30 / 6 PM GMT+10

The ideal person we bring in would be available Monday – Friday at the times listed above. That being said, we’re not entirely opposed to having two people tackle the position and split up the days. It’ll really come down to interest in the position, who’s applying, etc.

If you’d like to apply, please send a brief message here (select “Other”). I’ll follow up with everyone in the coming days.

Amazon may have more Switch stock in the near future. In a customer support chat exchange sent in by reader RobinWithN, the representative noted that new stock will be showing up “from the first week of May.” Regular consumers and Prime members will apprently be able to place orders. Of course, we do have to take this with a grain of salt as it doesn’t come from an official Amazon announcement, so keep that in mind.

Various retailers have been gradually restocking Switch over the past few weeks. However, Amazon hasn’t really had any units available in about a month. Based on today’s information, hopefully that will be changing soon.

Thanks to RobinWithN for the tip.

Rain can be an inconvenience for Link while climbing in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But for one of the game’s enemies, it’s actually deadly.

You’ll notice that a Fire Keese’s flames will go out when rain starts to pour. A few seconds later, it’ll perish right on the spot.

Here’s a quick look:

In the official Zelda: Breath of the Wild guide, two of the game’s most important developers left messages for readers. Series producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi both reflected on creating the massive title.

Aonuma’s message was particularly interesting. In it, he spoke about the developing process of “creating while playing”. Aonuma also touched on not being completely satisfied with development due to “a desire to keep evolving and growing.”

As for Fujibayashi, he touched on the difficulties of trying to rethink Zelda’s conventions. He also said that the team has “on occasion observed things happen in the field that not even we, who created the game, could have imagined.”

We thought it might be interesting to share both of these messages from Aonuma and Fujibayashi. Read the full transcriptions below.
