New Gyms are live in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO’s big update went live yesterday, but the new Gym functionality have just started running. This includes new features for the Gyms themselves, Gym Badges, and more. You can read all about the changes and additions here.

Final wave of new badges in Nintendo Badge Arcade added, last message and credits

It’s the end of an era for Nintendo Badge Arcade as the final wave of new badges were added in today. The app will still continue, but the age of new content is over. Old badges will be recycled going forward.
As someone who has been covering Nintendo Badge Arcade since the beginning, it’s a bit bad. But on the bright side, Nintendo went out with a bang. A last message was shared – posted in the video below – that showcases the different staff who contributed to the app.
To mark the end of Nintendo Badge Arcade, two free plays will be given out next week each day.

Nintendo Badge Arcade has been receiving daily updates since heading to the 3DS eShop. Because it’s continually updated with content, we’re rounding up all of the additions and changes in a weekly post.

Footage found of Mega Man 4’s unused mid-boss

When Capcom was developing Mega Man 4 many years ago, the original plan was to include a sphinx mid-boss. Ultimately, it wasn’t included in the final game.
Someone actually took footage of the enemy way back in 1991, and that video is now online. It’s the first time we’re able to see it in motion.

Sonic Mania certainly won’t be short on content. Speaking with Dengeki in a recent interview, Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka mentioned that the number of stages is higher than any other Classic Sonic game. A specific number wasn’t revealed, but we could find out closer to launch.

Whereas Metroid: Samus Returns will have a special edition in North America, Europe is receiving something that is much more special. Nintendo provided a first look at the Metroid: Samus Returns Legacy Edition today.
The Metroid: Samus Returns Legacy Edition will naturally include a copy of the game. Other than that, Nintendo is including a steelbook in the style of a Game Boy cartridge, download code for Metroid II on the 3DS Virtual Console, artbook, soundtrack CD, gold “S” pin badge, and Morph Ball 3D keyring,
Europe is getting Monster Hunter Stories on September 8

Monster Hunter Stories now has a final release date in Europe. Today, Nintendo announced that the game is set to arrive on September 8.
Monster Hunter Stories is without a concrete date in North America as of now. Nintendo is still sticking to a vague “fall” release window.
