During the Credit Suisse 2016 Annual Technology Conference today, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff commented on a wide variety of topics. A brief portion of his talk involved Nintendo and the company’s upcoming platform Switch.

Slatoff said: “The folks at Nintendo are making a great effort to support third-party developers, we’re very optimistic on the Switch though we are not announcing anything specific today.”

Take-Two collaborated with Nintendo on Switch’s announcement video. NBA 2K was showcased on the new system, and it’s likely to be released at some point in the future.

Yesterday, we received some information about sales focused around the Black Friday / Thanksgiving shopping period. The NES Classic Edition and New 3DS XL Solgaleo Lunala Black Edition were both cited as “products most likely to run out-of-stock”.

So how about Cyber Monday? Well, additional data from Adobe indicates that the Yo-kai Watch 2DS bundle was at risk for running out of stock. No specific data was provided, but it sounds like Nintendo has done pretty well in sales over the past few days.

Nintendo has shared brand new details about its partnership with Universal. Originally, the two sides announced plans for theme park attractions last May.

In addition to Universal Studios Japan, both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are participating. Today’s announcement notes that each park will share information about its specific Nintendo areas. “The first such announcement will come soon,” Nintendo said.

Nintendo promises “expansive, immersive and interactive” areas that “will be highly themed and authentic environments filled with multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.” Fans “will feel as if they are playing inside their favorite games”.

Plans are in place for new theme park areas to “open separately over the next several years.”

We’ve posted today’s full announcement below.

The moves Memento and Parting Shot have been temporarily banned from Pokemon Sun & Moon’s Battle Spot, i.e. the game’s random online battles. This is not due to balancing concerns, but rather to fix a glitch that causes the game to crash when the Z-Powered versions of those two moves are used. Take this into account when planning your Pokemon’s moves at the moment, but hopefully this should be fixed quickly.

Ubisoft recently held a party in Paris to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, and today they released a video that shows some impressions from that event. Interestingly, among the props on display were little figurines of Mario, Luigi and Toad as Ubisoft’s Rabbid characters. Given the recent rumors of a Mario & Rabbids crossover RPG , this could be more than just a coincidence. Naturally, it’s not an official conformation that that game is real, but it is certainly going to fuel further speculations. One way or another, we should know for sure at the Switch event in January.
