Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi details
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 4 Comments
Gematsu translated some details about Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi which was just recently announced for Switch. We’ve rounded up the information below.
– Out in Japan this winter
– 3D maps that were popular in the previous game are more detailed
– Nationwide maps are 100 times more detailed
– Will System: each character has a “Will”
– This “Will” means “way of life”
– Indicates how the warlords will act
– Since each warlord’s Will is different, how to proceed the game will also change
– Will also influences the commands you choose and specific tactics
– Battles consist of “Command Phases” and “Advance Phases”
– Calmly think about what you want to do without rushing to take action during the Command Phase
– Time is stopped during this phase
– Daimyo AI have will-associated goals
– In diplomacy, there is also multilateral judgment based on will
– Same scale of warlords appearing as in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension, which had over 2,000
– The team wanted to let you to taste the feeling of being against people, which was the basic design of Taishi
-The will system was born from there
– In previous games, actions by daimyo other than the player were decided based on the current situation
– In this game, goals are the underlying thought
– Actions are chosen from the idea of “what kind of actions are necessary to achieve my goal?”
– Partway through the final goal set for each daimyo, if he is judged to be “harmful” he will be seen as an enemy
– Then you’ll have to act according to that will
– There are plans to include new elements on the battle side
– Up until now, stocking up on lots of territory, troops, and vassals equaled strength
– This time, Koei Tecmo is using a system where the level of power exhibited will change based on the compatibility between the daimyo and vassals’ Wills.

Switch, PS4 “most likely” to see physical release of Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Posted on 8 years ago by Zack in News, Switch | 6 Comments
In a post made on the forum NeoGaf earlier today, a developer from FDG Entertainment stated that, while too earlier to confirm anything, the Switch and PS4 will be likely to see physical releases. Read the full post below.
It’s too early to confirm anything but Switch and PS4 have the best chances for a physical release because of a less risky business. That said we love Xbox One too – everyone from the ID@Xbox Team is super nice and helpful. We’ll see! Hopefully there’s enough interest coming from players of all platforms while we’re pitching to retail distributors. The amount of Twitter votes for a physical copy of Monster Boy have been very encouraging so far. Thanks for the continued interest!
It seems somewhat likely that we’ll see a physical release here. We’ll keep you updated should anything more concrete show up.

Some players experiencing issues with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s online multiplayer
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 46 Comments
Not everyone has been having a smooth experience playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online. About a week after launch, players are reporting a smattering of issues – in particular with disconnects and lag.
On Wii U, Mario Kart 8 required that users see an item hit them on screen in order for it to register. Nintendo changed things up with Deluxe though, causing players to be hit by items that they didn’t anticipate. Once again, being disconnected during the middle of a race is something that has been encountered as well as problems with hit detection. Kotaku speculates that these situations could be arising potentially due to a large influx of new players with poor connections, which can be hurdle with the peer-to-peer connection Mario Kart 8 Deluxe uses.
We should stress that online issues with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe aren’t universal. Some players haven’t come across anything at all. What’s your experience been like so far?
