During Jump Festa last month, Konami announced a few new Yu-Gi-Oh! games. One of these was revealed as a 3DS title.

Konami has now followed up with an official announcement for the west today, confirming that the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! 3DS entry will be available worldwide. A release is planned for sometime this summer.

Actual details about the project have still not been made known. Of course, that should be changing over the next few months.

Nintendo World will be temporarily closed on January 19. Once it reopens on February 19, fans will find that the location features an entirely new look and feel. Nintendo World, with the updated name “Nintendo NY”, will feature “an updated interior design, new Wii U and Nintendo 3DS demo units, a 15-foot gaming screen and more fun elements and surprises.” That’s on top of a large bronze coin at the store entrance containing the new tagline: “here everyone comes to play.”

During the weekend of February 19, Nintendo NY will host a series of reopening activities. Fans can stop by for giveaways (while supplies last), appearances by costumed characters like Mario and Luigi, and exclusive souvenirs that can only be purchased that weekend, including a limited-edition T-shirt featuring Mario or Link. Wii U and 3DS games will be on hand to sample as well.

Nintendo of America’s Scott Moffitt said of today’s news:

“Nintendo is constantly evolving its experiences for fans. The new Nintendo NY store is a must-see location for anyone that has a memory of Nintendo, or who wants to see what Nintendo has in store for the future.”

Head past the break for today’s full announcement, including a look at the bronze coin.

Nomura Securities has shared some speculation about the timing of NX’s reveal. The concept could be announced between March and May, followed by an actual unveil in June. It may then launch between October and November.

Here’s a notable excerpt from Barrons’ article:

According to analyst Junko Yamamura, Nintendo will make NX available by 2016 year-end’s shopping season. Nomura expects Nintendo to announce the “concept” sometime between March and May, unveil the actual console in June, and launch it between October and November. “We think the NX will start to boost operating profits in 18/3, when it will have been on the market for a full year and will have a line-up of software titles, which carry high operating margins.”

Today’s news comes as Nintendo stock dipped by 5 percent. Nomura Securities feels that NX will cannibalize the existing sales of Wii U and 3DS.
