Speculation about the NX’s leaked controller is coming to an end.

Reddit user Idriss2Dev, who started the discussions last week, has now posting a video revealing that he came up with a fake product. He shows some of the steps that he went through in attempting to make a believable image. See the video below.

There was also a different “leak” yesterday from a separate user, perkele37. However, you would have to assume that it’s fake as well given their similarities. It’s unclear if perkele37 is the same person as Idriss2Dev, but I think we can dismiss the overall rumors about the NX’s controller at this point.

National StreetPass Weekend: Spring Edition is set to kick off tomorrow. With that in mind, Nintendo is sending out a new Mii, Amy, to 3DS owners in North America. She should be arriving soon if you have SpotPass enabled.

Wavedashing, a well-known Smash Bros. technique, hasn’t been seen since Melee. However, players are now starting to explore some “bidou” moves in the series’ latest entry that is reminiscent of it in some ways.

To execute these techniques, a Wii U Pro Controller is preferred, and most buttons need to be remapped. For the most part, it relies on pressing and holding the special move button.

Kotaku explains the benefits of bidou in a new post today:

Bidou opens up the possibility to make perfect pivots easier, pull off crouching perfect pivots, sliding spot dodges, standing dash attacks, and achieve frame accuracy on wall jump attacks. It also makes dash dancing much easier and opens up a brand new tech called “quick step,” which is an even smaller movement than the perfect pivot. What that means in short: reduced lag, better momentum control, and being able to get moves out when you need them.

Update 6: Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition is now out of stock again.

Update 5 (3/24): Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition back up on Amazon France.

Update 4: Bumped to the top. In related Fire Emblem news, the Fire Emblem Fates New 3DS cover plates are up on Amazon France and Amazon Germany.

Update 3: Star Fox Zero Limited Edition also appears to be gone.

Update 2: Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition gone – only lasted a few minutes. The other two items should still be up.
