Update: The European release will follow later this month.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition is launching today on various digital platforms, including the Wii U eShop. Pricing is set at $19.99.

Square Enix has apparently opened a new teaser site for something tentatively going by the name “Team 043”. You can find it here.

The page doesn’t reveal much information, but Square Enix’s title seems to be a “ranobe-style RPG” or “light novel” RPG.

We’re assuming that this isn’t an April Fool’s joke on Square Enix’s part. There’s nothing on the teaser site indicating that it’s fake, but on a day like today, you never know!

Hi everybody, I’m back with another video review for you! This time, we’re talking about this Wii U eShop game about the lovely age old game of King’s and Queens: Chess. Check it out if you have a minute.

When Sonic Lost World was first revealed, not many would have predicted that the game would eventually feature crossover DLC with Yoshi and The Legend of Zelda. So how the heck did these two Nintendo collaborations come to be?

Producer Takashi Iizuka, speaking with Japanese outlet 4Gamer, said the concept came to him about six months prior to releasing the game. “This time, Sonic Lost World is a title that only released on Nintendo hardware, which is an opportunity that I couldn’t believe, collaborating together,” he said.

Originally, Iizuka hoped to include the Yoshi and Zelda Zones in the main game. But scheduling was too late, and they became free DLC items instead.

4Gamer did ask if Mario was ever considered as a potential candidate for Nintendo DLC. The short answer: not really.

Japanese publication Nikkei posted a new article today covering various bits about Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and the company in general. There isn’t really one particular theme here, but we do hear more about smartphones, a theme park in Kyoto that never came to be, Wii U, June being a big test for Iwata, and more.

Here’s a comprehensive summary of Nikkei’s article:
