Fan project “Wiimmfi” lets you play some games online following Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection shutdown

In just a few days, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service will be discontinued. This affects a whole slew of games – see a listing of first-party releases here.
Even though the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is reaching its end, fans have put together an alternative method of playing some titles online. The “Wiimmfi” essentially patches the server addresses in the game to play on custom servers once May 20th has passed.

Ubisoft wants to sell more than 6.3 million copies of Watch Dogs

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said during a financial call held earlier today that the company hopes to sell more than 6.3 million copies of Watch Dogs. Given how the first Assassin’s Creed performed, Ubisoft hopes its new open-world game can find similar success.
The publisher announced earlier today that Watch Dogs is the most pre-ordered new IP in Ubisoft’s history.

Amazon UK to offer Basic Just Dance and Wii Party U Pack with Mario Kart 8

Amazon UK has put up a listing for the “Basic Just Dance and Wii Party U Pack with Mario Kart 8”.
The standard Basic Just Dance & Wii Party U Pack has been around for quite awhile, and can be bought for £199.99. It includes Just Dance 2014, Wii Party U, Nintendo Land, and a Wii Remote Plus.
Amazon’s newest product seems to sweeten the deal by adding in Mario Kart 8. That means you’d be receiving a total of four games with the Wii U purchase. A price isn’t mentioned, nor is there a release date.

Ubisoft shipments: Assassin’s Creed IV, Just Dance 2014

Ubisoft’s latest financial results reveal shipment figures for a pair of titles.
To begin, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has shipped 11 million units, combined with digital sales. Just Dance 2014 has also been successful with total shipments coming in at over 6 million copies.
Ubisoft said in its financials:
The success of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag (more than 11 million sell-in and digital units). Every year, this flagship franchise for the video game industry offers players a highly innovative gaming experience, and generates a steady and very profitable revenue stream.
? A solid performance by Just Dance 2014, with more than 6 million sell-in units.
