Nintendo has wrapped up its activities for the day at Gamescom 2017. If you missed any of the live gameplay demonstrations or any events, you can catch up on the full recording below.

In a ceremony that just concluded a short while ago, the winners were announced for this year’s Gamescom awards. Super Mario Odyssey was ultimately the big winner.

Nintendo’s 3D platformer was nominated for several categories. It won out in each one, including “Best of Gamescom”. Metroid: Samus Returns and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle also took home a couple of awards.

There’s a new character class trailer for Etrian Odyssey V– this time it’s the botanist. A botanist is said to both heal and hurt with herbs. You can see this proof-of-concept below.

 

Eurogamer published a meaty interview with longtime Metroid developer Yoshio Sakamoto. There was plenty of talk about Samus Returns, including the amiibo support and two different hard modes. Sakamoto also weighed in on the series’ future and more. Elsewhere, he also seemed to shoot down recent rumors that the Rhythm Heaven franchise is dead.

Nintendo has announced its plans and lineup for this year’s PAX West. To say that the company has a lot in store would probably be an understatement.

The first highlight concerns playable games. Super Mario Odyssey will be playable, along with NBA 2K18 and Rocket League for the first time. FIFA 18 and Pokken Tournament DX will be on hand as well.

Nintendo’s Metroid: Samus Returns presentation at Gamescom 2017 just wrapped up. Quite a bit was shown, including boss battles with the new Diggernaut and Omega Metroid.

Nintendo also teased that by meeting certain conditions, you can unlock visuals known as the “Chozo Memories”. These tell the storyline of what happened on SR388 and what the Chozo did. Further teased is a “surprising secret” involving the memories.
