3DS

New Pokemon have been revealed in this month’s issue of CoroCoro. First images are starting to leak from the magazine, giving us a look at the creatures.

The first one we’re able to see is Nekkoala, the Contagious Dream Pokemon. It’s a Normal-type with the ability Definite Sleep which prevents it being afflicted with a status other than sleep. We also see the Deep Eye dog Pokemon named Iwanko, who is Rock-type and carries the ability Keen Eye or Vital Spirit.

Here’s a look at the new Pokemon (plus the upcoming movie) via CoroCoro scans:

CoroCoro also says that the Greninja event at the movie based on the Pokemon Election has the ability Protean and the moves Hydro Pump, Gunk Shot, Mat Block and Happy Hour. Those who attend the film will be given a Pokémon Ga-Olé disc featuring a QR Code that can be scanned to obtain Magearna in Pokemon Sun and Moon. Magearna comes with the Soul Heart Ability and a new move known as Furuuru Cannon. Additionally, it will be at level 50.

A new guest is arriving in StreetPass Mii Plaza. That’s right! Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime is starting to go out to 3DS owners, at least in North America.

The special Mii is being distributed in celebration of E3 / National StreetPass week. In case you’re wondering, it shows that Reggie’s been playing Hyrule Warriors Legends recently.

Thanks to Duarte N for the tip.

Starfish has produced a new gameplay video for next week’s Japanese 3DS release Kouenji Joshi Soccer 3. Check it out below.

Capcom has posted a new Monster Hunter Generations video showing off Astalos. We’ve attached it below.

Nintendo brought the 2DS to Japan earlier this year as a means of promoting the re-release of the Pokemon classics: Yellow, Red, Blue, and Green. They’ve been on sale as limited items since, and now their production is ending. As they’re the only 2DS systems available, the system as a whole won’t be sold any longer in Japan.

The latest footage of Etrian Odyssey V was shown during the first episode of Etrian Radio, now up on Atlus’ YouTube page. The recording with gameplay is below – primarily showing customization.

Nikkei Trendy published a new interview with Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino. There was plenty of talk about Yo-kai Watch, including the first game’s performance in North America, the next Yo-kai Watch movie, and Yo-kai Watch 3. He also shared a status update on Snack World and what lies ahead for the company.

Siliconera rounded up details from the interview, which we’ve summarized below. You can read their full article here.

Yo-kai Watch sales

– Anime has received favorable TV ratings
– Games are at around 400,000 copies sold in North America
– Hino says that looking at it from a Yo-kai Watch perspective, that’s not nearly enough.
– It takes time for things to start catching on in North America
– Level-5 is putting together a plan of having things bloom like a flower in half a year or a year from now
– Specifics weren’t shared
– Hino noted that the idea is to have North America get content that Japan has yet to see, or some content before Japan, or at the least at the same time Japan gets it

Yo-kai Watch movie

– Third film will have live action and anime parts
– Was originally planned as a full-CG film
– This would have taken two years, which would have been the case for a full live-action film as well
– Level-5 wants a new film each year and thought of ways to make that happen, including its whole story

If you’re a North American Pokemon newsletter subscriber, an email containing a code for Mew should be making its way to your inbox. Codes to redeem the Mythical Pokemon in X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire are going out this morning. They can be redeemed through August 31.

Another new Yo-kai Watch 3 commercial has gone in which focuses on the events happening in the US. Check it out below.
