Nintendo has announced the next Special Battle event for Super Mario Bros. 35. It’s a Coin King theme, featuring courses containing hidden beanstalks and coin areas.
1-1, 5-1, 5-2, 2-1, 6-2, 3-1, and 8-1 are among the included stages. The first course will be random, but the levels after that will be in a fixed order.
The new Special Battle event goes live in Super Mario Bros. 35 on January 8. Expect it to last until January 11.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate getting Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity spirits

It’s been awhile since Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gained new spirits outside of DLC, but a new batch will soon be added to the game. Players can battle against characters from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and add them to their collection. You can see which spirits will be added in the image above.
The new event goes live in Smash Bros. Ultimate on January 8. It’ll last for a total of five days.

Game Informer is back with a new video for Hitman 3 that shows off the game’s persistent shortcuts system. IO Interactive says the shortcuts are intended to “encourage exploration, reward curiosity, and incentivize replayability.”
Shortcuts can be unlocked in one direction. They can be accessed in a future playthrough to open up new and convenient ways to access targets.

Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed coming to Switch

Akiba’s Trip, an action-RPG, first released on PSP nearly a decade ago. A remaster titled “Hellbound & Debriefed” was then revealed last year. Retailer listings have now popped up in Japan with a May 20 release date, and it’s also been confirmed that a Switch version is happening.
A bonus clear sticker will be offered as a first-print bonus in Japan. There will also be a “10th Anniversary” Edition for 8,778 yen, which contains a 40-page full color visual book “Akiba’s 10 Years of Memory,” a reprint of the 132-page unbranded gameplay guide “Akiba’s Trip Official Complete Guide,” and the two-disc soundtrack “Akiba’s Trip 1st Complete Soundtracks.”

Monster Hunter Rise information livestream planned for January 7

Capcom has announced on its official Twitter that new information regarding Monster Hunter Rise will be shared via livestream on January 7. This follows a video announcement last week regarding new information on the title being released this month.
The livestream will be available on the official Monster Hunter Twitch channel, which can be accessed here.
Additionally, a demo for the game is planned to release sometime this month.
