Civilization VI update out now (version 1.2.1), hotseat mode added

A new update for Civilization VI has just gone live on Switch. Version 1.2.1 can be accessed by all users.
Based on users reports, one of the main highlights is the addition of the previously-announced hotseat mode. The feature allows players to take turns playing the game on a single Switch system.
2K Games has yet to share any additional information about the update. We’ll report back if we receive any further details, including patch notes.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel confirmed for physical release

When Fuga: Melodies of Steel launches on Switch in early 2020, it won’t be a digital-only title on the eShop. CyberConnect 2 president Hiroshi Matsuyama confirmed in a Q&A video that a physical version is in the works as well for the strategy RPG.
Matsuyama noted that the company is “currently discussing with potential partners to find the best match” on the production of a physical version. There are plans to offer boxed copies “for all countries and regions”.

Pokemon Sword/Shield features two types of shiny Pokemon

Shiny Pokemon have been ongoing for several generations of the monster-catching series. These incredibly rare versions of Pokemon have a very low encounter rate, making them particularly rare. With Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, things are taken even further.
Players can now encounter two different types of animations when starting a battle with shiny Pokemon. The first one is the traditional sparkles, whereas a new design features shining squares.

Arc of Alchemist launches for Switch in North America on January 30, Europe on January 31

Idea Factory today dated its desert-filled RPG Arc of Alchemist for the west. In North America, the game will arrive on January 30, 2020. The European release is happening one day later on January 31, 2002.
At least for now, Arc of Alchemist won’t have a physical version. Idea Factory is only committing to a digital launch currently.

R.B.I. Baseball 20 announced for Switch

MLB Games has announced that R.B.I. Baseball 20 is coming to Switch. The title will be sold both physically and digitally in March 2020.
R.B.I. Baseball 20 is said to include “an ever-increasing array of updates, features and enhancements developed by the MLB Games & VR team, billing itself as a uniquely fast-paced baseball experience with wholly retooled hitting and pitching mechanics, along with a host of improvements covering a broad spectrum of visual and game play categories.” Christian Yelich will be gracing the cover as the featured athlete.
