Latest Nintendo Switch Online NES app update removes all SNES game strings
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
There’s been an ongoing saga with the possibility of SNES games on Switch over the past couple of months. Within the Nintendo Switch Online NES app, it was discovered that references to over 20 SNES titles had been added back in January. This seemed to ramp up further last month.
The app was updated once again today, but has apparently gone in the opposite direction. Dataminers have found that all SNES game strings have now been removed.
What this means currently is unclear. Could SNES games be moved over into their own app? Or could we be losing hope for seeing these titles on Switch in the future?

Layton’s Mystery Journey DX likely coming west
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Layton’s Mystery Journey originally came to 3DS in 2017. Last year, Level-5 ported the game to Switch as an enhanced version known as “Layton’s Mystery Journey DX”. While it only saw a release in Japan, we could finally be seeing it in the west.
A rating for Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy Deluxe Edition has now appeared in Germany. The classification suggests that Level-5 will be making an announcement soon. We do know that a Nintendo Direct is taking place later today – perhaps it could be confirmed there, if not in the near future.

In the past, we’ve heard PlatinumGames speak about wanting to see The Wonderful 101 on Switch multiple times. This is something again reiterated in the latest issue of Famitsu.
Atsushi Inaba, who was a producer on the Wii U game, told the Japanese magazine that he’s interested in releasing The Wonderful 101 to the world again. Going along with director Hideki Kamiya’s joking nature, Inaba added that it’s a game that has only been played by only 13 people worldwide. Inaba wants to secretly announce it as a new game for the Switch.
