Nintendo says news about latest Splatoon 2 Splatfest for Japan was incorrect, proper update soon

Yesterday we heard about a new Splatfest for Splatoon 2 in Japan. But strangely, this apparently wasn’t intended to be the new topic.
Nintendo said on the Japanese Splatoon Twitter page that the information only went out to certain users. Those who already signed up for the Splatfest – which was incorrect – will have their t-shirts returned. We’ll also be hearing about the next proper Splatfest for Japan towards the end of this week.

Big Stardew Valley news teased for today
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in News, Switch eShop | 5 Comments
The Switch version of Stardew Valley has been hotly anticipated and every bit of news on it gets quite a lot of attention. Over the last few weeks, we’ve been getting ever close to the game’s release, with news that the game had been approved by Nintendo last week. This morning, Finn Brice, CEO of publisher Chucklefish, posted on Twitter that “the Stardew Valley news you’ve all been waiting for” would be coming later today. He didn’t explicitly say it, but it’s fairly obvious that he’s talking about the release date of the Switch version. We will of course keep you updated.

Switch version only accounted for 1% of the physical version sales of FIFA 18 in the UK

As you might have seen in our post on last week’s UK software sales, FIFA 18 finally launched and naturally dominated the charts. The Switch version placed at #7 in the individual charts, which is fairly decent. However, the Switch version was outsold by not only the other current gen-versions of the game, but even the Xbox 360 version, which took the fifth place in the sales charts. MCV reports that the Switch version only accounted for about 1% of the total sales of FIFA 18 in its launch week in the UK.
That certainly isn’t a great number, but it’s important to put it into perspective. As mentioned, this only accounts for physical sales – the Switch version might have had a stronger showing on the eShop. There have also been accounts of the Switch version being hard to find in stores – it’s currently sold out on Amazon.co.uk, with new stock only arriving on October 9th. It’s impossible to know for sure, but perhaps the Switch version of FIFA 18 fulfilled EA’s sales expectations – even if those were fairly low expectations.
