Update: Fire Emblem Fates has been added to the schedule. This is planned for:

— 11 PM to 12:30 AM (PST) on May 23
— 2 AM to 3:30 AM (EST) on May 24
— 7 AM to 8:30 AM (UK) on May 24
— 8 AM to 9:30 AM (Europe) on May 24

Nintendo has announced upcoming maintenance for both the Wii U and 3DS online services, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (May 23-24). Both Xenoblade X and Pokemon X and Y are being directly affected, and online features such as play, rankings, and Miiverse in general may be affected as well. The schedule is as follows:

Pokemon X/Y
— 4 PM to 5:30 PM (PST) on May 23
— 7 PM to 8:30 PM (EST) on May 23
— 12 AM to 1:30 AM (UK) on May 24
— 1 AM to 2:30 AM (Europe) on May 24

Xenoblade X
— 9 PM to 10:30 PM (PST) on May 23
— 12 AM to 1:30 AM (EST) on May 24
— 5 AM to 6:30 AM (UK) on May 24
— 6 AM to 7:30 AM (Europe) on May 24

Wii U / 3DS (certain network services – online play, rankings, etc.)
— 6 PM to 11 AM (PST) on May 24

The patch for Super Smash Bros. on both Wii U and 3DS is now available. As previously covered, the patch only applies changes to Bayonetta. To download it, launch the software while connected to the internet.

A new version of Super Mario Maker has gone live. Version 1.43 is available for download now.

Here are the patch notes from Nintendo:

• The Star Ranking list in Course World has been changed to display courses that have received the most stars relative to the number of people who have played them.
  • Previously, when searching for courses in the Star Ranking list, results could be set to either “Weekly” or “All-Time” but will now be limited to “All-Time.”
• “Super Expert” difficulty has been added to the difficulty filters when searching for courses.
• This update (ver1.43) must be downloaded and applied in order to use the Internet features of Super Mario Maker.

Today’s Super Mario Maker update is a 324MB download.

The newest Pokemon distribution is now live in North America. X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire players can now get their hands on Shiny Yveltal.

You can obtain Shiny Yveltal by choosing Mystery Gift on the main menu, and then selecting the Internet option. Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokemon Center to receive it. That’s all!

Bloomylight Studio has completely pulled the plug on Lynn and the Spirits of Inao – including the game’s Kickstarter – following some serious accusations.

Interns who were at the company have apparently come forward within the past few days, claiming that they were not paid for their work. Bloomylight can be found in France where it’s illegal not to pay interns when the internship lasts more than two months.

Bloomylight posted a message on Kickstarter to announce the end of its project yesterday. However, it did not specifically address the recent allegations. You can read it in full below.

Update: Bumped to the top. The Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors content is out worldwide. That includes Medli and updates for both versions, plus the Master Wind Waker Pack in Legends.

The update notes for version 1.3.0 in Hyrule Warriors Legends:

– Added playable warrior Medli. Control the power of wind to bring the fight to enemies both on the ground and in the air!
– New medals are awaiting to be won!
– Adjustments have been made to improve the overall game experience.

And 1.9.0 in Hyrule Warriors:

– Added playable warrior Medli. Control the power of wind to bring the fight to enemies both on the ground and in the air!

The download is 590 blocks (73.75MB) in North America in Legends. In Europe, it’s 620 blocks (77.5MB). The Wii U version is 106MB.

The previously announced update for both Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends is out now in Japan and should release in other territories later today. The update contains the Wind Waker Master Pack DLC for Legends, as well as the free addition of Medli to both versions.
