With Mario Tennis Aces having been in the spotlight the last few days, Nintendo has topped off the recent news with word that a fresh software update is dropping later this week for the title.

Bringing the game up to version 2.1.0, some big additions are set to be introduced in the Online Tournament mode. On top of adding both Shy Guy and Petey Piranha as rewards for participating this upcoming month, a new Doubles format and ranking system will be debuting on November 30th.

New challenge modes and character balances will also be implemented. The full patch notes are as follows:

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for the following week has started to update. Thus far things are looking relatively quiet, with only two sessions planned for Switch this week with another lined up for early next week.

The current schedule is as follows:

Super Mario Odyssey has reached a new milestone in the UK. Propelled by the latest sales coming from Black Friday, the game has surpassed 500,000 copies sold.

Switch only has one other title to hit the same mark, and most would probably be able to guess what it is. Indeed: it’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Note that digital sales aren’t included here. If they were, Super Mario Odyssey probably would have surpassed the 500k mark a little while ago.

Just in time for Black Friday, Nintendo offered a special Switch bundle last week containing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. There wasn’t really a similar option in Europe (at least officially), but that will be changing soon.

Reports indicate that Nintendo is readying a similar Mario Kart bundle for Switch in Europe. In France, 60,000 units will be made available to the public. No word yet on an official release date, but it’s due out in the very near future.

The week of Black Friday sales has come to an end, and GamesIndustry has an early report on the latest data from the UK.

Last week, several Switch titles saw big increases. Zelda: Breath of the Wild rose the most by 111%. Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Party were right behind having increased 110%. Finally, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was up 98%. Along with Black Friday week, new Switch adopters from Pokemon’s release likely played a factor.

Speaking of Pokemon, after their launch week, sales for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee understandably fell. The two dropped 43% and 55% respectively.

The Japanese eShop seems to finally give us that information. According to a listing on the digital store, Everspace: Stellar Edition is launching December 11 on Switch. We would expect that to be the worldwide release date, but if we hear otherwise, we’ll let you know.
