System: Switch
Release date: July 20, 2021
Developer: SYCK / Dreams Uncorporated
Publisher: Modus Games

Cris Tales may have wowed us with its first few showings – colorful and whimsical animations, an interesting time-travel mechanic that not only works throughout the adventure but also in battle, and a friendly top-hat garnished frog friend that rides on your shoulder to give you tips on your powers and progression hints? Certainly, this is an unorthodox recipe, but what does Cris Tales turn out to be when all is said and done?

Atlus has put out another demon showcase video for Shin Megami Tensei V. For today’s update, we have a closer look at Garuda.

Here’s the full video:

Jump Force Deluxe Edition

Jump Force was recently updated on Switch again. After installing the patch, your game should be at version 1.05.

The update includes new features like Premium Shop Counter, banners for ongoing events, and the Character Bonus Campaign event. We have the full patch notes below.

Super Mario 3D World Bowser's Fury

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury was the best-selling physical game in Europe during the first half of 2021, new data from GfK reveals. It led the way in Austria, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK. The game was also a top finisher in the other countries that were surveyed.

FIFA 21 was the second best-seller after Mario. In third was another Switch title: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo’s racer held nine top three finishes based on European countries surveyed.

We’ll also mention that Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto V sold well, as they had six and five top three finishes respectively.

Now, however, a new listing has appeared on Amazon. It not only gives us a look at the boxart, but also what looks to be first screenshots.

G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout

G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout, a team-based third-person shooter based on the classic franchise, first debuted on Switch last October. It’s now about to receive a new release at retail with a “Gold Edition”.

This new version appears to be largely the same as the original, but with some extra content. The full lineup of additions are as follows:

Steam Deck

Last week, Valve unveiled its new Steam Deck system. The device has drawn plenty of comparisons to Switch since it’s capable of playing big games on the go (with docking support as well) and in some ways reminds gamers of Nintendo’s console from a design standpoint.

Valve itself has now commented on those comparisons. Designer Greg Coomer is the first to weigh in, telling IGN that Switch a “great device,” but feels the company is targeting a different audience.

He said:
