The nominees are in for The Game Awards 2015. For Nintendo, they’re included in categories for Game of the Year (Super Mario Maker), Developer of the Year, and more.

We’ve already heard about some of Nintendo’s Black Friday 2015 offers and deals, including the new Wii U bundle. This will feature pre-installed copies of Splatoon and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It’ll be sold for $280, but some retailers will be offering it for $250.

Nintendo is also teasing its own set of deals on the eShop. Plenty of discounts are planned “on dozens of the best-reviewed games.”

A few hours ago, Nintendo put out a new Super Mario Maker update. This small patch brings the game up to version 1.21. No new functionality is introduced, as it instead implements enhancements for a smoother experience. You’ll need 297MB for the update.

Yesterday, Nintendo made a new version of Splatoon available. Players can now download version 2.3.0.

In a Nintendo Direct recap announcement sent out by Nintendo UK earlier today, the company touched on the upcoming broadcast for Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS – though just briefly. It’s stated that this presentation will be the “last one” for the two games. We’ve seen a number of Smash Bros. video events since the initial unveiling, but it looks like things are finally starting to come to a close.

A few weeks back, a listing on the European Wii U eShop stated that Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival would only be offered at retail. A similar entry has now appeared on the North American store.

That’s right – the only way to obtain amiibo Festival is by purchasing the bundle. Given what we heard for Europe previously, that isn’t too shocking. It’s also not surprising based on what we heard earlier this week about the non-existent free digital version.

Splatoon’s latest Japanese Splatfest has been scheduled for next weekend. The event will begin on November 22 at 12 PM, and will last for a full day.

Nintendo is partnering with Saga-Gyu on the Splatfest. In it, players are asked what they prefer to eat: mountain or seafood.
