Wii U

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 had a slight frame rate bug on Wii U. It mostly ran at 60 FPS, but an unknown issue caused it to dip to 59 FPS during single frames. Many players were likely unaware of it, though some felt it was an issue nonetheless.

For Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo addressed the situation entirely, and the racer is now at a silky smooth 60 frames per second. GameXplain takes a closer look below.

To promote Bayonetta’s new PC release, SEGA sent out its second developer diary today. Developers at PlatinumGames share secrets and more about the game, which previously came to Wii U. See it below.

Rain can be an inconvenience for Link while climbing in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. But for one of the game’s enemies, it’s actually deadly.

You’ll notice that a Fire Keese’s flames will go out when rain starts to pour. A few seconds later, it’ll perish right on the spot.

Here’s a quick look:

In the official Zelda: Breath of the Wild guide, two of the game’s most important developers left messages for readers. Series producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi both reflected on creating the massive title.

Aonuma’s message was particularly interesting. In it, he spoke about the developing process of “creating while playing”. Aonuma also touched on not being completely satisfied with development due to “a desire to keep evolving and growing.”

As for Fujibayashi, he touched on the difficulties of trying to rethink Zelda’s conventions. He also said that the team has “on occasion observed things happen in the field that not even we, who created the game, could have imagined.”

We thought it might be interesting to share both of these messages from Aonuma and Fujibayashi. Read the full transcriptions below.

On the latest episode of Fragments of Silicon, Tantalus CEO Tom Crago stopped by for a chat. A majority of the conversation centered around The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, of which the studio was largely responsible for.

Crago went in-depth about developing Twilight Princess HD. That includes how Tantalus landed the job, Nintendo’s involvement and working with series producer Eiji Aonuma, coming up with the new Wolf Link amiibo and Cave of Shadows functionality, how long it took to come together plus the amount of people involved, and more.

Read on below for Crago’s comments about working on Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

YouTuber nesis has come up with a bizarre, yet interesting way of messing around with a Guardian in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Believe it or not, it’s possible to ride a Guardian through the sky.

The steps themselves are pretty simple. Actually following through on the process may be a bit tricky, however. You’ll need to get a Guardian on to a raft, and then mess around with it a bit to make it move and fly up into the sky.
