Dakko Dakko says Nintendo has been “tremendous to work with”
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 1 Comment
Dakko Dakko lead designer Rhodri Broadbent has spoken very positively about the studio’s experience working with Nintendo and the Wii U hardware for Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails’ creation.
In an interview with ONM, Broadbent commented that Dakko Dakko has “found Nintendo to be tremendous to work with, and very supportive of Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails right from the start.”
Broadbent also shared a few remarks about developing for Wii U. He said that the recent report from an unnamed developer, which essentially blasted the console, was “out-of-date information and needless negativity around Wii U development.” Ultimately, he feels that “bringing your game to a Nintendo system should be about taking advantage of the toybox of possibilities they provide you with in terms of the controllers, the two screen setup, Miis, and so on.”
Be sure to head past the break for Broadbent’s comments in full. You can also find ONM’s full interview here, which includes comments about developing for one platform and more.

GameStop Italy seems to believe Watch Dogs has been cancelled for Wii U
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Wii U | 20 Comments
The release of Watch Dogs on Wii U may be in jeopardy.
GameStop locations in Italy have been telling consumers that the game will not be available for Nintendo’s platform and are being advised to move their pre-orders to a different version. Additionally, the retailer is says Ubisoft cancelled Watch Dogs on Wii U. It’s supposedly no longer in GameStop’s database as well.
These tidbits don’t come straight from Ubisoft, but there is still a reason to be concerned about Watch Dogs’ status. Has Ubisoft truly canned the Wii U version?
Thanks to Timo for the tip.

Peter Moore says “Nintendo’s a great partner”, not dead and never will be to EA
Posted on 10 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U | 10 Comments
EA chief operating officer Peter Moore has responded directly to a recent report concerning Wii U.
Yesterday, CVG published a piece about the console, which included some comments from a supposed source within the company. The unnamed person said that “Nintendo was dead to us very quickly” – among other things.
Moore took to Twitter earlier today and responded to those remarks, writing:
Don’t trust "anonymous sources". Nintendo's a great partner. They never have been, and never will be, ‘dead’ to EA… @EA .
— Peter Moore (@petermooreEA) January 23, 2014
Moore also had a brief exchange with Rob Crossley, the writer of CVG’s Nintendo article:
@Rob_Crossley_ I know where I, as the COO, and my company stands on this relationship, despite the comments of your anonymous source @EA
