Amazon has opened pre-orders for the new Joy-Con color combinations for Switch. The Neon Purple/Neon Orange and Blue/Neon Yellow sets are up here. Both are launching on October 4.
Civilization VI to add a hotseat mode on Switch, no plans for online multiplayer

Civilization VI will be receiving a new feature on Switch with a future update. A hotseat mode will be added to the game, allowing for multiplayer on a single console with players taking turns.
One thing that we won’t be seeing is online multiplayer. Aspyr, the company that ported Civilization VI to Switch, explained why it’s not possible:

Square Enix to offer physical version of Oninaki in Europe through its online store

Oninaki was previously confirmed for physical release in Japan. Europe will be getting a physical copy as well, though only through Square Enix’s online store.
Pre-orders are now open here. Only 3,000 copies will be made, and a reversible inlay will be included.
Note that there’s no word on a physical version for North America at this time.

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival requires a set of Joy-Con to play on the Switch Lite

Disney Tsum Tsum Festival will require some extra hardware in order to work with the Switch Lite. According to the game’s Japanese website, it cannot be played with the system alone. A separate pair of Joy-Con will be required in order to play.
Of course, with the regular Switch, you’ll be all set. You will not need any extra controllers if you’re playing on that console.

NBA 2K20 getting a demo on August 21

2K Sports will offer a demo for NBA 2K20 starting August 21, the company has announced. It will be available for download starting 12:01 AM PT / 3:01 AM ET.
The demo will let players get an early start on MyCAREER and the MyPLAYER builder. Multiple MyPLAYER configurations can be made, which will be carried over to the full game.
NBA 2K20 launches September 6.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 tech analysis

While this may come as unexpected news for some, Dragon Quest Builders 2 appears to be one of the games pushing Switch the most. In its latest video, Digital Foundry points out that it can run under 10 frames per second in extreme cases, which usually results from playing user-made levels.
As for the actual campaign, Dragon Quest Builders 2 usually sits between 20 and 40 FPS. There’s no frame rate cap, hence the variable performance.
Rune Factory 5 teaser trailer

During a live stream today, Marvelous debuted the first teaser trailer for Rune Factory 5. We’ve included the video below.
Rune Factory 5 launches in 2020. The game will have data linkage with Rune Factory 4 Special in the form of two special guest characters.

Omega Labyrinth Life coming west on August 1

In a surprising bit of news, D3Publisher has announced that it will release the roguelike dungeon RPG Omega Labyrinth Life in the west. It’ll be out digitally in North America and Europe on August 1 – the same day as Japan. The western version will apparently launch without anything censored on Switch.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses update out now (version 1.0.1)

A day-one update for Fire Emblem: Three Houses is now available. Nintendo has issued version 1.0.1, so those who have access to the game already should be able to download the patch.
As for what the update entails, one added element is the “Additional Contents” link on the title screen in which players can access the eShop. Also, the protagonist’s outfit can be changed in your room, which is reflected in the Monastery and battles. Those who purchase the Expansion Pass can put on the Officers Academy Uniform. Lastly, Nintendo says: “Several issues have been fixed to improve gameplay experience.”
